Two people were shot in Denver's Civic Center during Saturday's 4/20 pot rally.
A man and a woman were both shot in the leg, said Denver Police spokesman Sonny Jackson. Their injuries are not life-threatening.
Denver police are asking witnesses that fled to come forward with information, Jackson said. Both victims were taken to Denver Health Medical Center.
Police are looking for two suspects involved in the shooting. Investigators do not know what started the argument.
Crowds scattered at the Civic Center about 5 p.m. Saturday when shots were heard.
Denver police officers, who were at the 4/20 rally, ran toward the southeast corner of the park with their guns drawn.
Damontay Wimberly said he heard about seven shots.
"Pow-pow-pow-pow-pow, about seven times," he said.
Wimberly was in the middle of the park near the tents, and was one of thousands who sprinted in all directions.
Miguel Lopez, organizer of the rally, said that the event is done for the day.
Laura Forduno heard the shots.
"It was peaceful. Everybody was having fun and then you heard the shots — pow-pow-pow-pow — and everybody started to run," Forduno said.
Forduno was knocked down but someone helped her up. As she ran she looked back toward the corner of West 14th Avenue and Bannock Street.
"There was a gentleman on the floor, lying there, and he was not moving," Forduno said. "It was chaos."
A 4/20 rally crowd disperses after reports of shots fired at Civic Center Park Saturday afternoon, April 20th, 2013.
