giants game

I really don't don't know what to expect from them. They seem to be a team in transition, offensively. At QB anyway. There's so much more expectation in Giants land than Eli passing well. He must run the offense with confidence. There's a huge learning curve in that respect in the NFL. He's not there yet, but he's on his way.

If we come anywhere near to shutting down their run, we're in pretty good shape. That forces Eli to the pass and possibly make mistakes. But shutting down the run is no easy task. Their O-line seems to be up to the run game. Their RB's are class and stay fresh, for the most part. Tiki and Jacobs. The key to winning this game, in my opinion, is keeping the Giants running game in check while pressuring Manning. It's probably a good thing we're facing them early in the season and Eli is still in that learning curve.

Coughlin likes to win. They have a strong run game. Where Coughlin wants to be patient and develop Eli, he knows where his bread is buttered. My hope is he continues to try to develop a balanced attack with a rookie quarterback and good running. If he deserts the Eli project for our game and run, run, runs? We are in deep shiot.

My 2 cents.

I believe it was Jamar Nesbit that said the saints are playing with emotion, something that has been missing from the team. They are not only playing for themselves, but for the entire Gulf Coast. This could make them the dangerous team everyone's been waiting to show up the past few years.

I believe Eli will spend most of the day on his back. The Saints just have to contain Tiki and Plexiglass Burress.

I believe that our corners can handle their receivers pretty well. They don't really have that dominant receiver so I say let's put the pass defense in the hands of Fakhir and MM. If we bring Dwight Smith up closer to the box to help defend the run and mix up blitzes on the obvious passing downs, we can get to Eli and force him to make some mistakes. Grant and Howard didn't really make an impact in Game 1 so I think they are going to be really motivated to make something happen on Monday. Everything I see and hear from this team tells me that they are really focused. I can't help but have my hopes up.
