We just have to shake it off..

As frustrating as last night's loss is............we know damn well our team is better than this. The return of the false starts, dropped passes, and overall crappy play is just a mere hiccup. It was obvious from the start of the game that this wasn't our day........so please let's not immediately start saying FIRE BROOKS, JASON CRAFT SUCKS, WE'RE GOING 6-10, and all that jazz.

Look for the Saints to bounce back against Minnesota.

RE: We just have to shake it off..

jason craft did suck though. I don't expect 6-10 though, you make a good point. Our team is much better than this, especially on offense. Craft aside, I thought the defense played fairly well considering the position they were put in from the start.

Go Saints.
Boo Vikes.

It was even more obvious that this wasn't our night when Carney missed the short field goal.

Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug.

Way to deflect from Brooks' terrible performance. "Let's not start the FIRE BROOKS" chants. Nice.

I would think the SIX turnovers would have more to do with the loss than dropped passes.

CHACHING 09-20-2005 09:37 AM

We actually didn't look that bad...If we could just get Brooks to look off the receivers we might have a chance.....
But I think we rebound Sunday and beat the vikes....

Brooks is not exempt either. Sorry if you interpreted it that way. Stallworth and Horn had above-average games....but nobody else did. Everyone else was merely average or below.

I sort of agree with Cha-ching. In reality, we can't blame this loss on any one particular unit. The defense played iffy, but not downright horrible. Brooks played average to above-average (you can't deny some of those solid throws he made), but also threw a critical interception to the linebacker. Deuce was bottled up most of the night. Carney missed a chip shot. We fumbled the opening kickoff. We false started nearly every time we had momentum, or got called for holding. We had the illegal contact on Sedrick Hodge after forcing the Giants out of field goal range. Conwell was dropping key catches.

The list goes on and on. If ever there was such a thing as a "team loss"........last night's game exemplified it.

We have to brush it off and move forward. Our Saints are still a damn good team, dare I say as good as anybody else.

B&B, you have quite the knack for slicing through the BS.

That's kind of a shot at Horn, given what he brought to the field. If you're referring to the fumble for touchback at the end of the game, would it have really mattered? We needed to get the ball in the endzone, and dammit if he didn't try. That's the only thing I can think of that you would fault Horn for last night, and I'm not even sure I would hold that against him. Horn was on fire last night.

CHACHING 09-20-2005 10:26 AM

Horn and Stallworth looked great..........
Gotta give 87 credit for that goalline stretch, but the night was doomed from kickoff..
nothing was going our way....maybe we just needed to get that out of our system....
You'll see a better Saint team Sunday......<ching>

What are you babbling about? I said they had above-average games. I was actually crediting both him and Stallworth, at the expense of everyone else.

BlackandBlue 09-20-2005 10:41 AM

Babbling? If you are trying to belittle me by referring to my posts as mere "babbling", don't think that my lack of posts means I have little knowledge of this game. People have made that mistake with me in the past.

If you grade Horn's performance last night as above average, you are a harder critic than most.

TheGambler 09-20-2005 10:50 AM

ok, ok..

Horn was clearly our MVP of yesterday's abysmal overall team performance. With 53 Joe Horn's on the team...........we would have won 45-3.

WhoDat 09-20-2005 11:09 AM

LMAO.

Stallowned!

CHACHING 09-20-2005 12:12 PM

Would we have 8 Horns on the practice squad too??????
Ya'll funny...

Too bad we're all nowhere near as funny as we think.

Still funny.....
