game plan for this week should be to run the ball to open up the passing game, which may be able to be carried out with the loss of takeo spikes, and pressure losman, who is a 2nd stringer at best at this point in his career.... you think the nfl would recognize tulane qb's by now as just not very good... king, ramsey, losman, and i'm guaranteeing ricard won't be very good either... anyway, the saints should be able to sneak by on a field goal, if they can keep the penalties/turnovers low and apply pressure to losman and limit mcgahee (let's be honest, we can't stop him for sure)

Buffalo will take a page from the Minnesota 'cure for offensive woes' playbook. They'll hammer Willis, which will succeed because the Saints are not stout up the middle (DT's and MLB). When the safeties cheat up in the box, they'll run play-action, giving a struggling QB just what he needs to get better: one-on-one looks on the outside. While Mackenzie can be beaten due to his risk-taking, he can also make a great play, so Losman will look to the other side, where every WR's dream, aka Jason Craft, will be. Craft solo on Moulds or Lee Evans? Good-freakin' night.

PS- this is pretty much what the Vikings have done the past three times they've played the Saints. Why did it take so long for Venturi to bring corner and safety blitzes? How is it that we can be out-coached by Mike Tice -Mike FREAKIN' Tice- every time we play the Vikings?

BILLS NOTEBOOK: Red zone TDs continue to be a problem

Allen Wilson - Buffalo News - Sept. 27

The Buffalo Bills were 29th in the NFL in touchdown scoring percentage in the red zone last season. Not much has changed this year. The red zone continues to be the place where touchdowns go to die for the Bills, who have scored just two TDs in nine possessions inside the
opponents' 20-yard line after three games.

The Bills are coming away with some points as they've gotten six red-zone field goals from place-kicker Rian Lindell. But seven points is a lot better than three. The Bills' offense has only two touchdowns in 12 quarters of football, so the unit has to do more with the few red zone opportunities it gets.

"It's very frustrating," quarterback J.P. Losman said. "It's good that we're not having penalties to back ourselves out. We're not turning the ball over and not taking a lot of lost-yardage plays. We're still getting just three points, which is going to catch up with you at times and it's catching up with us now. It's definitely an area we need to focus on."

Despite ranking last in the NFL in rushing yards allowed, the Bills are still No. 7 in total defense because they have given up the fewest passing yards in the league (106.3 per game). Offensively, the Bills are next to last in the league in passing (100 yards per game) and total yards (223.7) and 28th in scoring (13.7 ppg.).

More from Bill's fans...

"I think that the Saints are at a distinct disadvantage. This is not even a home game for them. This is an AWAY-home game."

Saints Defense: 24th in the league
Pass Defense: 18th in the league
Run Defense: 26th in the league

Saints Offense: 11th in the league
Pass Offense:11th
Run Offense: 20th

Edit: I think that if our run defense can step it up and shut McAllister down that we definitely have a shot at winning this game. I am not scared of N.O.'s pass offense because we are pretty good at pass defense.

Our offense should have a pretty good game. McGahee should run for around 120 yds and hopefully, Losman will throw for about 200.

All in all.....

Bills 21
Saints 10

"I think this is the game we need to see some of JP's talent. I think he's gonna make some of those throws he hasn't and hitting the open guys when they are there. I don't care if he struggles, I expected it,but he has to show the talent,he's gotta show some of the reasons why we drafted him. Eli was horrible last year but showed enough flashes that you knew he'd be alright,I'm not seeing that from JP yet. This week is gonna be that game. Bills get back to .500 winning 26-17"

" The Saints will be up for this game. First game in San Antonio. The Bills can't get much lower after losing TKO. They'll be dominated once again."

Bills 13
Saints 24

"If the Bills don't win this game they are done! Horn may not be playing and the Bills have the #1 pass D. NO D is not good. So I think overall the Bills should have the edge. But I'm not going to predict this game but I will predict they are done if they don't win this game. And unfortunately if Losman does not play well Kelly will be in the next game and it will be bring on the NHL!!! "

"I want some of the crack everyone is smoking, who think that the Bills can score more then 3tds."

Saints 21
Bills 13

"Saints are still PO'd about the Giants game and take out all their frustration on us. Again Losman looks rocky bu defense keeps it close! But again all Lindell!"

Saints 17
Bills 9

"Let them be PO'ed. They don't have the team to beat us. They don't have a lot on defense. Their offense has some weapons, but unless Brooks can get them the ball, they're useless. We will win this game. The Bills we thought we were going to see are going to emerge. Losman is going to have a career day. We will win the turnover battle. That will help us win this one. "

There ya go....
