reshirt year for McPherson?

wtf? why didn't they put him? what would have been the harm? it was already a massacre by the 2nd quarter, so why not try and get him some experience while they had their 1st team in? this is the problem with the saints... no coaching, no heart, no intelligence... i mean honestly he couldn't have done worse than smiley or bouman. i just hope to god we can get someone in the front office to finally convince has-not that smiley is not the answer... never has been and never will be... i mean, we went out this year and got an offensive line, we have deuce, although with no lead blocking and extra weight, he's really suffering in the production dept. this year... what's the problem with him? i guess he, like the rest of the team, realizes they get paid the same amt. for a loss as they do for a win... what a bunch of high paid, gutless chumps... i'd fire the whole f**king team, even the waterboy...

I agree. Bowman is no future for us...but everytime I look at McPherson, all I see is a younger AB.....cannon arm, mobility.....lack of leadership, inability to read defenses, slow and poor decision making, etc, etc.

I would love to see us get a good game manager. Someone who has football smarts and fire in his belly. A guy who knows what the game clock looks like, gets in the faces of his teammates and turns them into fighters. I was waiting for AB to start up a game of 3 card Monte on the sidelines today and crack jokes with the guys.

I think we'll win too many to be a serious candidate for Leinart.

Depending on what we do with AB and Howard, we may want to consider taking a smart, poised QB in round 1.

How can a QB lead a team to a 35-3 first half deficit and come out and start the third QTR?

I think I have figured out the solution to all of our problems: they need to hire me as GM. Anybody second this? Seriously, I would somehow get Haslett and Venturi and every other coach on the team fired, I would draft a QB with smarts and a desire to win, I would bring in a staff with brains and motivational skills, I would get a great LB, and I would be agressive in free agency. Sometimes I wonder why this all seems so hard for this franchise. Other teams do it year in and year out, but these morons haven't figured it out once in half a century. These things really can't be that hard to do. Somebody in our FO has to understand that Haslett is a bad coach. They also have to notice that we suck at drafting people. What about free agents, has nobody noticed that spending money on good FAs actually helps teams out? This team is hopeless. They'll never figure out what it means to be a good franchise.

WELCOME TO THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS!

If someone needs to be fired I would have to go straight to the top. Benson needs to go. He does the final say so on hiring and firing. He is an IDIOT and he has surrounded himself with IDIOTS! As far as putting A-Mac in....HELL NO. All that would do is turn him into Danny Wourfullenutthin. We need a PROVEN LEADER. Chaching, I know you wany Leinart as do many of us, but without new FO, First rate Coaching and Players that have HEART, all that would happen is a Great QB would be destroyed in one fatal season.

This organization has the "Crapitus Touch". Everything they touch turns to S%!T.

They make me wanna.... :censored: :crying: and :puke:

How can you come to this conclusion? He hasn't even played! I may be proven wrong, but I don't think his past should be used to measure his potential. I say give him a shot. What could it hurt?

Also, maybe the Saints should start negotiations with San Diego now to get either Rivers or Brees. Just a thought.

IMO, this is where the problems begin. It is all on Benson, and his desire to put a product on the field that people will watch, but won't cost him too much money. If you look at that last statement, it is a recipe for mediocrity...which is what we have had for
the duration of Benson's ownership. Before that, with Mecom, it was pretty much more of the same.

You also have to factor in that most free agents have NO as last on their list, because of the losing mentality that this organization has, coupled with the fact that NO is not exactly the most idea place for someone to come and pick up big-time endorsements. It is just a losing situation all the way around, and the only way that I can see us ever fielding a championship team is that if by some miracle that one year all of the mediocre players somehow play way above their heads for an entire year....not likely.

Basing it on his style of play in college, Arena Ball and pre-season. He reminds me of Aaron Brooks. Same skill set, same weaknesses. It's like their scouting reports are photocopied. Granted, he has potential, and it's not yet been wasted. But Aaron Brooks has had potential for well, 6 years now and what are we looking at every Sunday.

I hate to say it, but I will likely be prejudiced against this kid just because he reminds me so much of Brooks.

With Duece out we may be in contenion for Leinart. At least the 49ers and Texans are worse. I'd rather go 4-12 than 8-8, it would give us a far better draft position. AJ Hawk?haha

Well said. That couldn't be more true.

Why do people just automatically assume we're gonna be so much better if we get Matt Leinhart?

Sure, he might be the next Peyton Manning or even a Carson Palmer. Or he might be a Ryan Leaf or Rick Mirer...

Hell, Tom Brady was a 6th round draft pick!

I'm not even going to go there with you, but the "P" word seems appropriate. This kid is a rookie. Brooks wasn't a rookie when he got to N.O. We need to give this kid a shot. He should have been in the game for the second half. Bouman is and always will be a back up and he knows it. We should have put the ball in AMACs hands.

I doubt this but I would love to have Marvin Lewis from Cinncinati. Look what he has done with his group of players. Damn he is a good Coach!!! Notice the word!!! A Coach!!!!!!
