In what round are you going to draft this safety? The 2nd. How much are you going to pay Green? I got a better idea sign lee flowers. The only player that was cut after geting the fracnchis designation was trotter. The Eagles are just cheap, If they had Trotter last year they would have had a better chance against the Bucs.

The latest rumor is the pats trading up to the Bears at #4. the trade being #14+50 plus Jones for #4 and #68.

Patman, it sure sounds like you\'re worried about losing a safety... not green... Jones only in a ridiculous trade... safeties aren\'t worth a whole lot man.

It is just a rumor on the KFFL board. The Bears need a safety, for them to make that move though They must be loking at a 2nd rd qb, I dont see Boller getting past Balt.
Unless the Bengals dont go QB. At 14 they must be targeting McDougle or Haynes. which is another need. Although the parts fit I dont see it. Minn if Robertson and Kennedy are offf the board is the most likley spot, if he is used as trade bait to move up in the 1st as the Vikings need a strong saftery.

The pats will not let Jones go post June 1, you just dont let talented players go if at all possible. Milloy is one of my favoite players but the Pats wont pay him that amount of money. If Jones is let go, in 2004 Harrison who will be 31 may be the only one left.

T Jones is the only Free Safety out there, The other guys are just slow SS who will not improve your team. That said I think the Saints hold on to the 2nd rd pick till draft day as that is thier chip to move up in the first rd.Our secondary right now is a strength but
in two years it may be a weakness.

The saints I think are holding on to their 2nd rd pick to move up in the 1st. If they are unable to do so then the trade may happen.

Patman u keep on wishing, the deal is dead unless the New England Patriot come to their senses. If Chicago going to make the deal good for them. I like the talent TJ have but he have no cover skills to warrant a 2nd rd pick.

The Saints value him highly enough to pay him 17.5 mill. That is the value I place on him. I am only a fan it does not matter what I think. The saints think he is good enough to make him one of the top five paid safeties in the game. BB thinks he is worth a 2nd rd pick, that is all anyone knows.

As far as the saints trading up, I read that they believe Newman can be an elite corner.
and that they are high on Robertson and Trufant also. I dont care if Jones plays for the saints next year or not. There is no dreaming on my part I did not offer him the money the saints did they are the team that wants him. BB has cleared the cap room to keep him and that we know.

where u come up with these #s? 17.5 mill? maybe over 5 years, geez man. and B.B. didnt clear cap room to keep him, when they put the franchise tag on him, he AUTOMATICALLY took up the 3 mil in cap room

Please, I am not trying to be beligerent. yes the 17.5 is over 5 years that makes him one of the top 5 safeties in the NFL. Well yes, the cap space was cleared to make room for the draft choices. I only mentioned that to refute the posters who predicted that the pats would cut him June 1 because they could not afford to keep him and sign the choices.

Pete Prisco now reports that the deal is now a 3rd this year and next (pats) or a 3rd this year and a 4th next (saints)

To say a player who you wish to make one of the top 5 paid at his position not worth a 2nd is wrong. Do the saints want to pay it? no. Should they try to get him as cheap as possible? yes. To say he does not have cover skills is just flat out wrong. He did not have thecover skills to succeed as CB, but he has superior skills for a 220 lb safety. He is bigger than some LB\'s.

FYI- The Times-Picayune now says the proposed deal is a 3rd this year, a later pick this year and a mid rounder next is the Saints newest offer. My guess now the saints are offering #78, #190 and a 4th next year. With the Saints moving along BB will probally come of his demand for the #54 IMO. My guess now he asks for the Saint#3 next year instead of the 4th and call it a deal. The Pats get three picks but all later than the top half of the first day. The three picks in my mind do not equal the #2 in value but nobody ever gets all what they want.

I still say the saints will try to move up in the first. Targeting Trufant/ DT and then get Witten with the #18.
