Trade Deadline

anybody think the trade deadline is way too early as i do? there aren't a lot of teams completely out of it in the parity laden nfl right now. give it 3 more weeks say and you would see many more blockbuster trades like major league baseball. if at 2-6 you might actually get something for AB from a team like the bucs who are thin but making a push. LT flozell adams out for the yr for a contending dallas team? no telling what kinda draft pick gandy could garner. i love ya joe but if we are gonna rebuild you might get to catch some td's on a superbowl contender for a decent draft pick. load up and overhaul... if it was that way. 2-3, who knows? it could be 4-12 or 11-5 with the jekyll n hyde schitzophrenic performing team. (more likely 8-8

any deadline blockbuster proposals? how bout howard (gonna be gone next year one way or another) and joe (i think the rest are ready to take up the slack) and bouman (LOL) to atlanta? they need a real receiver and are banged up all over on defense. i'll take ed hartwell for next year, schaub to tryout as starter, and a 2nd rd pick.

I agree with you LKell, the trade deadline is way too early. It's dumb to have it after week 6. Why not after week 8 at least, so teams can truly gauge what they need? It would have been nice to get something for Howard, he is gonna walk for nothing at the end of the year. We coulda used a good young corner or a LB.

why does it matter in Saint land. We'll just drop a player who will wind up being a pro bowler and get a player on heavy geritol
