We could still go 10-5...

Hey, there is a small, tiny, little miniscule bit of hope in me that says we can still do it. Ah...It is possible, just not probable.

Ofcourse we could also go 2-14.....that's not quite as fun to think about...except if the Saints stay in NO and they draft Leinhart.

I'm predicting 4-12. At least we'll get a high draft pick... but then we'll just draft another Sullivan. Go Saints!

Knock it off Papz. We can still get into the playoffs. I won't count this season over until we lose next week. We lose...we're toast.

Try to think of it as the last time you will root for this team, good or bad. It's over after this. I say, give it everything you got. Saints go 9-7 and make the PO's!!!!!!

Yeah, cause it's not like they are injured or anything. Please.

TheGambler 10-24-2005 10:50 AM

Brooks, Hakim, and Stecker/Smith have been the bright spots the last few weeks, actually.

We can't keep losing to these crap NFC teams....this is the exact same BS that put us on the "other end" of a tiebreaker last year.

DJLengai 10-24-2005 12:09 PM

With hurricanes, disrupted lives and practices, fatigue, executives getting fired, executives quiting, Benson trying to move the team while saying he's not, the HB, our top WR, #1 pick RT, both safeties out, and a burnt coaching staff...we'll be lucky to win 1 more game.

To lose to the Rams who had the skill people out on O when we had a 2 TD lead is a great indicator that the team is going to lose a lot of games. We were lucky to beat the Bills and they had no O. The only game we played well was against Carolina. The whole thing is collapsing so wins just won't happen. It's hard enough for the Saints to win when evrything is perfect so thinking they'll win now is going to lead to dissapointment.

I can't believe, but I'm not surprised, that the end of the Saints will be this way. Sad stuff.

Bullcrap. We need a new team. But if we can't do that, the most important thing that we need is A NEW FREAKIN COACH.

newmexicosaint 10-24-2005 07:52 PM

This will be Jim hasletts LAST YEAR! I am tired of this middle of the road crap!! How about your thoughts on a POSSIBLE replacement for Haslett and Venturi...

CheramieIII 10-24-2005 09:24 PM

Haz will go down in history as the Coach that road a team not only into the ground, but helped them run out of town. Cuz I can tell you one thing if the Saint's had made a couple of trips to the playoffs and were 5 and 2 right now I don't think there would be as much talk of them leaving.

I am really beginning to think we should just let them go. I like to theory that if they go to San Antonio and LA gets a team in a couple of years that the NFL will still need another city to even out the teams again. New Orleans will be back in 2 or 3 years so it makes sense.

We need a fresh start fellas. I just hope that San Antonio has the money to poney up with Benson in the future or his granddaughter because what goes around comes around and he will rape them too.

Let them go and be done with it. We can keep the board and talk about the expansion team, upcoming high school prospects, the SEC and local high school football for the next couple of years. New Owners, New Team, New Players and a New City. We get to keep the damn name and logo Benson. You can call your new team:

THE SAN ANTONIO RAPISTS and your logo could be Benson behind some jail bars. You colors are certainly yellow and brown. You know what the colors are for.

WRONG. If we lose this team now, there's a VERY good possibility that we will never get another franchise. Sure they suck right now and everybody hates Benson and our awful play, but if we lose these guys, then they will probably go to L.A. eventually. And then what? You think the NFL is going to give New Orleans another franchise? HELL NO. That would be 33 teams. That's entirely too many, not to mention that would be an imbalance in the # of teams in each division. Also, the state of Louisiana and the city of New Orleans have serious economic issues that would almost certainly deny any chance of the Saints ever coming back. So, how about this: let's hold onto our boys like we've been doing for the last 40 years and not let that bastard Benson steal em away from us.

CheramieIII 10-24-2005 10:06 PM

Hey Deuce, we have 32 teams now. If the Saints move to San Antonio and LA gets a new team, which most certainly will not be the team from San Antonio they will have 33 teams. The Saints could be awarded the 34th team in 3 to 4 years in order to balance out the conferences again. Two divisions would have 5 teams in them. This scenario is certainly better than having 16 teams in one conference and 17 in another and having only one division with 5 teams, don't ya think? Don't you also think that New Orleans will be ready in 3 or 4 years?

The game this weekend will either allow us to keep the stinkin team we have now or set us up for an expansion franchise in 3 to 4 years when LA comes on line. Do you honestly think that 40 teams would be too much. Hell as long as the teams make money the NFL doesn't care how many there are. and they can have 100 for all I care, I only care about the team from New Orleans and who we get to beat up next week. I am of course speaking way into the future with that, " who we get to beat up next week remark". Cuz we damn sure can't do it now.

TheDeuce 10-24-2005 10:24 PM

Well from all of the reports I've been hearing, San Antonio will only be a temporary home for the team for a year or two until LA is approved, and then the franchise would move out there. Then, if New Orleans happened to get another team down the road, it would be at 33. But this is all speculation. Also, I don't really know how much bearing this week's game (or any game this season) is going to have on keeping the team in New Orleans. I think that Benson will do whatever he wants, especially if it means more profit in San Antonio or Los Angeles.

O, and 40 teams is way too much. The amount of talent that could play at the highest standards of the NFL just isn't around. There would be a dilution of the talent pool in the NFL (meaning we would have teams filled with a lot of mediocre players). A lot of people feel this has happened in MLB. But hey, I would love to see more teams if they could still be competitive on the field and in the local economies.

CheramieIII 10-24-2005 10:36 PM

Hey, the Saints must have diluted the talent pool already. I mean sucking the talent out of good players.
