Monday morning QB

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Leinart could certainly learn the art of the inexplicable play from AB. Always handy in the NFL....

RE: Monday morning QB

AB brings a level of frequency and panache to his art that his QB predecessors lacked. Leinart should learn from the definitive source.

RE: Monday morning QB

wurfle snap dweezle whiz? What the hell are you guys talking about. We have had nothing but Mediocre QB's at best. Brooks has only furthered the history of our illustrius reputation at the QB position. He has been given more chances at QB, dare I say it than any other. Shiiiiit this guy wouldn't have made it 30 years ago for more than a season, unless his name was Archie and I am not completely sold nor will ever be on how good Archie was? I remember watching LSU rip him apart 63 to 17 when Archie had a broke arm and hoping that everytime they sacked him they would break the other one. It's my darkside.

Golf and sex are about the only things you can enjoy without being good at them.

the anwer isn't at the QB position... Its up front on D and O. I am all for trading away Brroks to the Jets... and get as many draft picks ready for next year as we can.

RE: Monday morning QB

With his pricetag, I doubt we'd get even that. No, we'd probably have to supply the Spam and Jujubees ourselves.

I remember a coach (Green Bay?) saying something about how Brooks lacked an intagible, that something was missing. And now we know what it is. Intelligence.

Really, Brooks is just a moron. An overrated, overpaid higly opportunistic cretin. A can of Spam and box of Jujubees won't make up for that.

RE: Monday morning QB

In Brooks defense, he isn't the one fumbling on reverses, or blowing ref calls, or getting FG's blocked or overrunning the defense. He's just responsible for his own contributions to the debacle of the last 5 years. His portfolio is impressive (depressive?), but not solely responsible. I'm going to agree with a few who've noted that he's not been that bad of late.

Anyone wondering why the Saints couldn't score after the 1st two drives need to remember that the playbook is dummied down so that it's easier for Brooks. It's also easier for the other team to predict and manage. The smarter you are, anything is easier, especially beating dumb QB's with a lot of physical gifts. It's not Brooks' fault he's not that intelligent, it is the coaches and the front office's fault for putting the entire team in jeapardy by making him the rate limiting step. AB's doing the best with what nature gave him.

Now someone once told me, the dumbest person is one that thinks he's smart while calling someone else dumb. Same people in here everyday who would probably score a negative -20 on a dumberlic test.

I have to admit our problems do not stem from AB. Sure he has his share of blooper highlights over the years but this year I think he is playing much better than usual. Lets face it -- fate has not been kind to us this year. The refs are blowing calls all over the place -- our special teams should be playing in the special olympics, and we have the worst turnover margin in modern day football.
