Come Together....

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; OK, I can only say from the lack of response, it appears there is a lack of interest. I will still send my 2 or 3 letters a week....

RE: Re: Come Together....

Come on guys, if we lose the Saint's we have we may NEVER get another team.

I will do at least 100 flyers each week, 15 - 20 to each location mentioned above at my own expense. Hell, I will even fold the damn things too. You guys just vote on the theme of the weekly flyer and I will write it, set it up and mail my 100. All we need is another 10 to 20 people to step up and do the same. I originally thought if we pooled our resources we could get it done more efficiently.

We also need to be thinking of a name, a regional name that will inspire others outside of New Orleans to support the team staying in New Orleans. If we come up with a real good one maybe Tags and everyone will see how much we want to keep "OUR SAINTS" by at least conceding the name New Orleans. Names such as, Louisiana Saints, Southeastern Saints, Gulf Coast Saints, New South Saints, Southern Saints, Coastal Saints, America's Saints or any other names we can come up with. We could even take the name and rotate it by state for Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Arkansas. Sort of like rotating the national championship in college football every four years, but the guarantee is they will always be based out of New Orleans, the emblem is ours and the name Saints can never be used by another brother. Ha Ha, a little joke fellas.

You guys know if we lose "OUR SAINTS" there is a very good likelyhood that we will never have another NFL team.

Are all of you really willing to take that chance? I THINK NOT, AT LEAST NOT ME!!!!!!!!!

The reason why I am still a member of this site (other than being kicked off of the other ones) is I see a group of individuals who are not scared of their own opinion or anyone elses, but now I fear all I am hearing is a bunch of guys complaining because they can? You guys might be upset with me because of previous posts or whatever, I apologize for the whatever, but don't sit back and wait for someone else to keep the Saints in New Orleans, frankly there is no one else that will help us.

You know that time in your life, the time that you always dreamed you could make a difference. It is here guys and you cannot let it escape you or we will all regret it later.

I am really embarrased that I haven't had one response to my posts. I didn't even start this thread.

It's time that everyone put up or shut up. I'm going to put mine, up how about you?

You have a living room in your prison cell ???

Given the circumstances, that was HUGE.
The spew or the attendance ???

Mon Cher

I will do 3 letters also... every week. One to each network. But, but but............ the letters had better be good.

Also how about persuading the networks to show something GOOD FOR THE SAINTS.

Seems to me that they always shows plays against the Saints (I know we have deserved much of it) and also recognize that we are on the field.

Every bloody week the previews talk about the opposition - apparently the Saints cannot be playing.

Every bloody week, highlights show opposition touchdowns - apparently the Saints never ever score any.

Hey UK, thanks for the reply. Here is a nice little letter I wrote. You can use it all or part:

January 2, 2006

To: All Media Outlets

From: Loyal Saints Fan

Subj: Keep the Saints in Louisiana

I am writing to all of you in regards to rumors that the Saints may be relocated to San Antonio or Los Angeles.

You have the power to assist the loyal fans of the Saints, the city of New Orleans and the entire region. The New Orleans Saints organization will do nothing short of accelerating the region in its recovery. You must remember that the Saints have had few successes in their 38 years in New Orleans, but you will all have to admit that they have the most loyal fans on the face of the earth. Over 30 consecutive home sellouts for a losing team are pretty good? I know you all agree.

Saints fans are proud of what they have and even what they don’t have. The Saints give their fans glimmer of hope in tragic times and they always will with your assistance.

We do not want you to bash Tom Benson, that is his way, not ours. We are honorable men and women with honorable intentions. We want you to portray the Saints in a way that makes it impossible for them to move, ever. The New Orleans Saints organization will be the leader in the recovery of the region. It will give hope to a people who have suffered like no other and give faith to all fans that they will continue to do so for many years to come.

The state of Louisiana has provided very large subsidies to the Saints organization for a few years now, in good faith and we only ask for the same. Report the news, but please report the whole story. The fans need a fair shake now more than ever and I have faith that you will help us.

Sometimes the world doesn’t revolve around money, but a purpose. You have a chance to give back with nothing more than words and support. It won’t cost any of you a dime and just think you may get some more loyal watchers to your networks. You have a purpose now and it’s time to fulfill it. Not just for Saints fans, but for all fans everywhere and the love of all games, not just football.

Signed,

A Loyal Saints Fan

Anyone and everyone that can at least send 1 letter to each media outlet mentioned above will have a direct impact on keeping the Saints in Louisiana forever. We need to the put pressure on now, when the tragedy that has occurred is still fresh in everyone's mind.

It's to make it easy to send e-mails to let everyone know that we want the Saints to stay in New Orleans even after next year and I figure the more pressure we put on until it's decided the better. Once we stop talking about we're toast.
