I'm going to be as positive as I possibly can considering what I witnessed on the TV yesterday. We played pretty aweful, but it is looking more and more likely that we could end up with the number one or number two overall pick. I mean if you have a choice at this point between ending up 7-9 and missing the playoffs, getting a number 10 pick or going 3-13 and receiving the number one or two pick, which would you rather? Not only that, but we also hold the tie-breaker against some pretty awful teams that could have a poor record as well, such as Green Bay, Minnesota, and Miami. I believe that this could be the start of a lot of big, positive changes for the Saints. There are bound to be major moves in QB position, as well as the coaching and front office positions. I'm not being sarcastic. I really believe that you have to hit bottom before things can really change. So, everybody hold on for a little longer. Just stick it out through this season. Big, positive changes are coming.

You can't make an omelet without cracking a few eggs.

Brother, I made this same speech at 4-8 last year. Just pack it in, and shoot for a high draft pick. They didn't. We picked middle of the draft again and kept the same problems with no changes. Until we have double digits in the loss column, I am not getting myself swayed again. although the losses are promising. Coaches gone, QB gone, some linemen gone, LBs gone. This is what a bottom feeding season may bring. Here's hoping. I pray to God Brooks strings together some of his famous doesn't count stat padding so we can trade him off for another high draft pick. Blame it on everyone else if they have to, a lot of people already try.

Do you really trust this front office to draft for need? Even if we get a top 4 pick, who do you think they'll select? Not a QB, because AB is the future of the club. Not an LB, because those are home grown. Not a DT, because we've done that too many times with no result...They can only draft an equipment manager. He'll save the day.

We seriously need a new owner, new front office, new coaches. The first area's of need is going to have to be that O-line and the D-line

We don't have to trust the front office. First pick in the draft brings new coaches with it, and hopefully with that a shift in Loomis' personnel responsibility. I don't see how any new coach would come in here, and with the first pick not take Leinart. Unless they dropped down for Vince Young or Omar Jacobs, or hell Marcus Vick and secured us a stud defensive player with that traded pick.

I'm sorry, but (in my opinion) you don't DRAFT offensive linemen unless they're stud rookies who can play within their first couple of years. That normally never happens. Offensive linemen really don't come into their game until they spend atleast 5 years or so in the league. While this isn't always the case, it still holds true most of the time.

I think we need to look at a quarterback, a corner or two, a safety, a veteran linebacker, and a veteran offensive lineman (or two). A veteran defensive lineman might be in the cards as well.

No its usually the Linemen who can come in and start and contribute... WR's and QB's are usually the ones who need time to develop and get use to the speed of the game.

Linemen can come in and contribute right away. But it does take them a while to reach their maximum potential.
