From what I hear, the whole coaching staff should have been gone last year. They will be gone with this year, (HOPEFULLY!!!!!) but I'm not so sure about Brooks. Even though he sucks, I would actually be curious to see what he could do with a good coaching staff. However, I'm still in favor of drafting Leinart.

At this point i'd be in favor of seeing a blind, retarded midget with no arms or legs in the lineup ahead of Brooks. It is time to put Amac in. We need to see how he performs in gametime pressure situations. Every year I tell myself that this is gonna be the year that Brooks puts it all together. That bastard is the most frustrating player in the NFL. He's one of the top five QB's in the NFL when it comes to physical ability, but in the bottom five when it comes to leadership qualities. I wanna see what we've got in McPherson. He needs to get an opportunity to showcase his skills. If we can give Brooks five years, then we can at least give Amac five games. If he doesn't show us anything, then I would definitely be in favor of picking a QB in the 1st round this year. As exciting as it would be to watch Vince Young play against Ron Mexico twice a year, I think I would rather have Leinart under center for the black and gold. I want a QB who will get the ball in the hands of our playmakers. He reminds me of Tom Brady.

I agree with most of the points here except drafting an Offensive Lineman. I say we should pick one out of the free agent pool who has atleast 5 years of experience. Sure, many rookie OL can start the year that they're drafted, but they'll play undisicplined for the first couple of years. If you look at any great offensive line, you'll notice that they're all veterans who have played with each other for a couple of years. There are not many players like LeCharles Bentley, and the Saints were lucky to get him.

I believe (in no particular order) quarterback, safety, linebacker, and corner are positions we need to pursue. However, like offensive linemen, I'd much prefer getting a veteran linebacker out of the free agent pool. Those are two positions were a couple years of NFL experience will mean a world of difference.

Also, I believe we need to draft people who know how to block. This includes any wide receivers, as well. A blocking wide receiver can mean the difference of a 20 yard reception or a 45 yard touchdown. Our special teams unit suffers tremendously. The majority of the problems with the unit is their lack of blocking ability. Many people have admitted being upset because Michael Lewis' play seemed to have declined. However, now they see that no one on the team is having much success running back kicks either.

Deuce's lack of performance can also be attributed to horrible run blocking by the offensive line.

And, before people decide to jump on my comment and claim I'm being unfair to quarterback Aaron Brooks, consider this: Run blocking and Pass blocking are two entirely different things.

Right now, we have a decent Pass blocking line with horrible Run blocking abilities. Also, Horn is the only decent blocking receiver we have. I recall a couple of plays where I've seen Horn throw a block that made yards-upon-yards of difference. All of our receivers need to learn this trade.
