2006 Draft

Talk of the Saints in the playoffs is worthless. But not their possible draft position. What's needed more: offensive coordination with QB Vince Young or a solid D starting with AJ Hawk?

RE: 2006 Draft

First of all, talking about the draft right now is like trying to figure out the amount of navel lint that Ricky Williams will collect this summer while puffing a fatty. The problem is that we don't have anyone competent in the Front Office to look at the available talent pool and make some sort of logical decision. Whether or not you like or dislike the coaching staff, the fact is that they have NO input into the choice of who comes or goes. It is all done by the chief halfwit LOOMBOOM, who is a cap man not a football man.

Loomis would not know football talent if it fell in his lap and would not know what to do with a top draft pick if he had te chance they would probably take a half a** LB from Akron or Harvard. Did anyone see that FB on the yale highlights Sat...Over 4000 yards rushing in his college career, the guy has potential, he is playing in the Ivy League though, kinda like the pee wee league of college football...

Regretfully this has been the problem since LoomBoom came aboard. He is great and I mean great with negotiating contracts and saving cap room, but horrible in putting talent in Hazlett's hands. My contention is that he doesn't have a sense of what a football operation is. In the glory days of Finks and Mora, we did well and were headed in the right direction, unfortunately Finks died and we got Slick Billy. The decline started from there. And we all know the rest of the story. :(

i am a defense guy all the way, but i go with Vince Young. 100% beast-animal.

I say we take Young or Lienart, I would even be interested in Jay Cutler...How about another OL like Andrew Whentworth or DL like Kyle Williams...

He's caught my eye, as well. A smooth operator.

I would go OL... give Amac a shot next year, maybe put brooks on the bench... because the way Amac plays he won't complete a year.

Many teams will take a look at Bryan Cupito, a junior at Minnesota, should he decide not to play another season. I suspect he will complete his college career.

Brooks and the entire coaching staff will not be back this year from what I hear. It looks like we will be re-building again.
