Hey X, I believe both options maybe closed to Benson now. He will want to give the appearance when he sells the team to a group of Louisiana investors that he has the upper hand so he can get more money. What a concept and like the guy needs more money. Don't you think for once that someone in this world with money would do the right thing. It always seems it is the people without the money doing the right thing and the people with money doing what they want, which is usually shiiiittttiiiinnnngggg on the people without money.

All you people with money take notice. One day a revolt across the USA will occurr and all us have nots are going to take all your stuff and you are going to be our ******* for a change. You will cry and we will treat you just like you treated us, with a whip you jackass.

It will happen, remember how this country was founded and it's about time for a changeover again, don't ya think!!!!!!!

Hello Mr. Random. One minute we are talking about Hardberger's dumb ass, the next we are talking about a slave revolt and following Malcolm X in taking up arms. What happened Cher? You just re-watch Mississippi Burning or something?

Man I must be good, because I am white as a sheet in the spring wind, but if I got your attention I guess everyone else looked at it too and now the word is out. I really like Mississippi Buring too.

I'm not so sure that Benson's thought all this out properly. There's no way that the State can or will subsidize any more than it is nor will it for Benson. He's got the best public finance deal in the history of sport and he's treating those who's footing the bill like its his god given right to more money. My bet is that without the subsidy of the State, his franchise isn't worth much more than $400M (from $760M). If that goes away, he'll have to replace those moneys. There is a trend in state governments not to put these moneys into owners' hands (the NY Giants' deal comes to mind) and it is highly unlikely that the Texas moneys for economic development will be allocated for that purpose without a statewide referendum.

He's negotiating himself into a box unless he's got some deus ex machina that will transform his situation. If I were Bradshaw, I would negotiate without pressing for a close, and wait to see how Benson handles the January discussions with the State. He'll have to declare his intentions, and if it is to seek more money or move, then I'd withdraw, publicly implying that without the State deal, the franchise is worth less (and name the number) Benson would be forced to seek at least as good a deal as what is on the table from his next dummy, I mean city. There's not a chance in hell he'll get it. So, Bradshaw comes back to the table and bails him out.

Uh, Cher, while I am frequently called a "liberal democrat" for my socially progressive views, (and I am very sympathetic to the underclass), there's a reason that they're the underclass....they generally want change but don't know how to manage it once in charge (which is why they're the underclass in the first place). This country was founded by extraordinarily rich guys who didn't want to share and manifested their revolt by convincing the rednecks (with whom they didn't want to share, either) that it was noble and imperative that they die for their (not yet formed) country (little realizing that the founding fathers were simply weeding out the underclass). Your call for arms may turn into another Waco, unless you've got a really rich dude (preferably several) who want to foment some good change. Not that I'm against it, but with 130,000 welfare squatters itching to return to New Orleans, you're probably not going to find many of those willing to die for the Saints, nor will they be able to organize unless there's some serious looting to be had. Now, if you can get those 130,000 strong to slide over to San Antonio, I'll join your uprising. Make San Antonio the new 9th Ward. That would be a revolution worth funding.
