BROOKS FOILS SAINTS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

UNFORTUNATELY, I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THE BUCS' PERENNIAL PRO BOWL LINEBACKER. I'M TALKING ABOUT OUR PITIFUL QUARTERBACK. YES, AARON BROOKS! THIS GUY HAS BEEN A THORN IN THE SIDE OF THE SAINTS ORGANIZATION FOR FAR TOO LONG. WHEN DO THESE IDIOTS THAT WE CALL COACHES FINALLY BENCH THIS MORON! THIS GUY HAS SINGLE HANDEDLY SNATCHED DEFEAT FROM THE JAWS OF VICTORY FAR TOO MANY TIMES. IT'S TIME TO GIVE SOMEONE ELSE A CHANCE AT QB. I CAN HANDLE THE LOSSES FOR SAKES OF A NEW QB GETTING "LEARNING" TIME AT THE HELM. WHAT I CAN'T HANDLE IS POOR JUDGEMENT EVERY GAME & HORRIFIC TURNOVERS FROM A PLAY CALLER WHO SHOULD BY NOW BE A SEASONED VETERAN. I HAVE LAYED OFF OF BROOKS FOR WEEKS NOW FOR THE SAKE OF "NOT BEATING A DEAD HORSE", BUT THE HORSE IS REALLY STARTING TO BLOAT & STINK NOW. I AM A TRUE SAINTS FAN-HAVE BEEN FOR 30 YEARS-SO DON'T THINK I'M JUST BASHING TO BASH. BUT, COME ON! THIS GUY IS KILLING US!!!!!!!! PLAY A-MAC OR SOMEBODY & LET HIM TAKE HIS LUMPS THIS YEAR. WHAT'S THE WORST THAT CAN HAPPEN-WE LOSE OUT & MOVE UP IN THE DRAFT?

RE: BROOKS FOILS SAINTS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

Welll I agree and I think most people think he might be gone at years' end. But whether Amac gets a chance is unknown. There are many other problems on this team, including the offensive line, and many think that the HUrricanes and the o-line will be excuse enough to have him back.

RE: BROOKS FOILS SAINTS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

AB sucks and it has nothing to do with any hurricane. It has everything to do with Benson believing the more he puts a mediocre or losing team on the field that he has a better chance of getting them moved because of lack of support. AB is stupid and there is no other excuse.......

bayoubrudda 12-04-2005 04:07 PM

I agree- AB blows goats-we need Lienart or someone that is consistent. I can't breathe very well with this bag on my head!

At what point did you come to understand this concept? My first realization that he was a dud was in 2001. The real question here is WHY HAVE THE SAINTS KEPT HIM THIS LONG?

Yes, there are many more problems on the team. No argument about that from me. However, the O-line is decent in pass protection & they seem to be getting better at run blocking. The LB's stink up the joint. The DT's are horrible. The only bright spot on the D-line is at the ends. CB's have played decent, though nothing spectacular & Dwight Smith seems to be a stellar safety. I think we can pick up quality LB's in the 2nd round of the draft & there will be some really good DT's in free agency this year. That is if our frugal owner is willing to spend the mony. Trade the house to grab Reggie Bush in the 1st round. With Deuce's knee injury, we need him. If not, draft a quality QB like Leinhart. After round 2, draft by needs: DT's, LB's, FB, & maybe a TE (let's watch Hilton 1st though).

After all that said though, Hurricanes are no excuse for Brook's poor decision making ability. There is a ton of talent on offense on this team & more & more it seems like Brooks is holding them back. :D :D :D :D :D

RE: Re: RE: BROOKS FOILS SAINTS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

I agree hold on to Hilton he is getting better everytime he starts. I never really read any of the scout reprots on A-Mac...i hope he is smarter or plays smarter...Plain and simple I would rather a guy at qb that does not want to be the protoype pocket passer but rather a guy that wants to win and will do whatever he has to do it...Like favre in the begining

The long Love affair Hasbeen has with Brooks .

Hasbeen is a great talent evaluator at the quarterback position .......

BrooksMustGo 12-04-2005 05:02 PM

Brooks, Haslett and Benson DESERVE each other.

Props to the D for not quitting while Brooks was giving the game away.

CheramieIII 12-04-2005 08:10 PM

Thought you guys might enjoy a look at the passer ratings for Brooks for the entire season. Even BOB cannot defend this crap.
97.9, 66.4, 43.6, 77.7, 25.9, 97.9, 71.5, 50.6, 61.4, 80.7, 139.9, 23.5.
This guy sucks and now the whole world knows.

CheramieIII 12-04-2005 08:27 PM

opps and the 136.1 should have been 136.1

CheramieIII 12-04-2005 08:28 PM

oops, oops I meant the 139.9 should have been 136.1 sorry boys.

LordOfEntropy 12-04-2005 09:39 PM

Don't worry - AB can't count that high anyway.

G504 12-05-2005 12:01 AM

I think before the Saints examine the possiblity of drafting a QB in the first round, we gotta let A-Mac get at least 3 games under his belt. We got too many holes on the team to duplicate talent at the same position. Now true, it stung us when Duece went down to not have a viable back up, but we got a lot of starters than need replacement. Brooks is just one of them. So lets see if A-Mac can fill that slot and hopefully draft at another position. Besides, the Texans are more detrimined than us to lose every game from now on, so a top 3 pick might not happen anyway.

So you want to see Brooks 2 the sequel ???

The unproven bench riders road trip to glory .

A shot at a top quarterback in the draft does not come around every draft . Take the shot at Leinart and put someone who can lead this team in the huddle .

I agree. However, if we have even the slightest chance at Reggie Bush, we have to go for it. This guy is a legend in the making. He is the franchise! You can always make a deal with SanDiego for Phillip Rivers. But, if you have no shot at Bush (which is more realistic), make a play for Leinhart. Just look at what Carson Palmer has done. And according to Pete Carroll, Leinhart is the best QB he's coached.

Bush is special , but to me it is a situation similar to Detroit with Barry Sanders , without a real threat under center to get the ball out , defenses begin to creep up and sooner or later will shut the back down . This team needs vocal leadership under center and a playmaker the team can believe in .

Lifer 12-05-2005 02:39 PM

We have no shot at getting Reggie Bush in the Draft. He'll go before we get a shot.
The Cure:
Fire Haslett. Hire Texas Tech Coach. Completely change the style of play. Go for speed and athleticism. Get away from huge fat guys and the power style.
Try and trade Brooks. If no value use him as a backup.
Draft a QB - whoever the Tech coach wants.
Trade Duece and Karney. Neither fit the new style. Get max value at positions of need LB/DT.
Draft a RB or pick one up in free agency - a Dunn, Barber. Westbrook style back who can catch. Go for speed and versatility.
Sign Bentley.
Cut Gandy. Pick up OL help in free agency.
Clean house at LB. Hodge gone. Draft LBs. Lots of 'em. We don't have one NFL quality starter on the team.
Let Fakir Brown go. Average at best.
Keep one of Howard/Grant.
Get rid of Sullivan. Loser. No desire.
Sign Will Smith to a long term deal. He is a stud.
Draft or sign DTs.
Get rid of Carney and get a new kicker. To old. Decent kickers aren't that hard to find.

Brooks: The Saints learning disabled QB!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been a Saints fan for a LONG time.......I am even a season ticket holder....
First: It was so pleasant standing in line at Tiger Stadium for the Miami game for an hour and a half to get my tickets(five windows to take care of a whole lot of people

Second: I surely hope I can get a refund for my home away from home tickets...

Third: I honestly believe that a new owner who actually knew about FOOTBALL would take over this team, that we could become winners.

Fourth: I would really hate to see the Saints leave this state, because I believe that this will be the end of professional football for LA.

Fifth: I believe that the coaching staff has done a good job, but LA politics prevail.....

Sixth: Why was A B so good in the beginning until he started receiving the BIG bucks, then we were caught.... AND let Delhomme get away.....

Seventh: I have always paid particular attention to professional quarterbacks throughout the league. I have noticed that around 99% of them are leaders. Notice that when most of them go to the sidelines after an offensive series, they will either talk to their coach, get on the phone, talk to fellow players or look at pictures from above. I don't ever recall seeing AB doing any of this during a game. It seems like it's all a joke to him (AB).. Needless to say I have been called a lot of names for being such a foolish fan, BUT I think unles we get a NEW owner and a REAL Quarterback next year, then let them get the HELL away from LA!!!!!!!!!!

YES I,M P OOOOOOOO D!!!!!

Aaron Brooks is to stupid to read defenses. He doesn't look at game film, because he doesn't know what the hell he's looking at! I mean, this is a guy that they had to cut the play book in half for, yet he was still so dumb that they had to make a wristband w/ pictures of plays for him! After 7 years in the NFL, you would think he would have learned something. But this goes with the old saying: "You can take a turd, dress it up real nice & spray cologne all over it, but the cold hard truth is that it's still a piece of sh*/!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

RE: Re: Brooks: The Saints learning disabled QB!!!!!!!!!!!

hey but he still is the best qb the saints have ever had statistically. THE ONLY ONE WITH A PLAYOFF WIN ALSO. THE ONLY QB TO PASS FOR 400 YARDS AND RUN FOR 100 IN 2 CONSECUTIVE GAMES. 2000 the Raiders he throws for 400 yards. THE NEXT GAME THE SAINTS LAY THE 49ERS AND BROOKS RUNS FOR 100 YARDS.. I know it seem,s like i'm defending him but i'm not i'm done!!!!!!!!! I say good bye BROOKS YOUR CONTRACTS UP!!!!!!!!!!! FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!!!!!!!! FIRE!!!!!!!! FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIRE!!!!!!!! IN THE HOLE!!!!!!!!!! MAN DOWN!!!!!! MAN DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!! OWE THATS BROOKS TRYING TO SCRAMBLE AFTER BACK PEDDLING 15 YARDS BEHIND THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE. What a RETARD. I want guiness to do a commercial with Aaron Brooks not sure how it woiuld go though. They gave Brooks a bottle of guiness and he was able to find the obvious running lane without back peddling 15 yards brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!! Give him the bottle hey Brooks gets 1,000,000 dollars for everytime he smiles and laughs after throwing an interception from his Colgate incentive contract. I was just joking but maybe Brooks should look into seeing if colgate would do that for him. Hense the sarcasm in my voice.

Hey Blackwidows, we had the stats discussion about a month ago and statistically Brooks is only better in a few categories and some of them are not the good catergories, but thanks for saying that you also think he is a retard. CUZ WE ALL KNOW AB STINKS

It seemed to me around 92-93 they were going through the Ware experiment and it took Sanders out of his rythm and allowed some defenses to shut him down . I think there were a few games he did not make the century mark .

You can sum Brooks in with one word--Inconsistent
HE'S GARBAGE

CheramieIII 12-08-2005 09:08 PM

Have to reiterate - Matt Leinart is Gino Torretta part deux (as far as college play)... He's going to want millions and millions in guaranteed money and I believe he's going to be a bust in the NFL...
Shuler comes to mind also...

I'm not saying I agree, but why risk it when we have an unproven QB on the sideline already? Why discover next year if Leinart can play in the NFL when we can find out TONIGHT if A-Mac can play in the NFL? The Falcons are a decent team that needs to win to stay in the wild card race. This'll be a true test of whether McPherson can play on any given Sunday.

Re: RE: BROOKS FOILS SAINTS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

[ However, the O-line is decent in pass protection & they seem to be getting better at run blocking.

What? Our O-line is not good at anything except being porous and not opening holes for our running backs. When was the last time Brooks didn't have to run before throwing the ball. 90% of the time he's rolling out with a defender on his heels. Now, I'm not defending Brooks at all he sucks bad, but if we had a quarterback with no wheels I could not imagine how many times he'd be sacked. Our player overhaul needs to begin with our O-line. If not we're destined to the same fate of the Lions.

CheramieIII 12-12-2005 07:13 PM

RE: Re: RE: BROOKS FOILS SAINTS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you somewhat FOB. I really think we only need another good guard and Stinchcomb will be back next year. I think all will be fine. I do really think however Haslett has put all of his eggs in one basket with AB and that will cost them both. Imagine drafting 1st and getting Bush, then trading AB, Deuce and another 4th or 5th rounder for Leinhart. If we could keep these guys together I believe it would take alot less time for the Saints to become a dominate offense again. With your 2nd and 3rd rounders take a top OT and LB. with your sixth pick take a new kicker and the 7th take the best possession receiver available.

As usually I've got it all figured out for them. The Saints organization just needs to start making things happen now.
