Here's a question for you guys. With one of the hottest topics from this past year being the play of Aaron Brooks, the loss of Jake and this years draft possibly the strongest for Quarterbacks in years, at what point do we start looking for a backup QB? Do you draft one in a later round and if so who do you like? :P

i like our qb situation at the moment, i think bouman is a solid backup who potentially can pull out some victories if called upon, and we have o\'sullivan who we drafted last year, and i think he will be a good backup for years to come also.... so, i dont want to see us draft a QB, we drafted one last year, and we just signed another one a few weeks ago and sent him to NFL Europe...

If he was there at 54, I\'d be trading that pick with someone that was eager to get him. I know, I was one of the people that declared that he wouldn\'t go until the 3rd round, but it would appear that since I made that statement, God himself has come down from heaven and cured Willis of his THREE torn ligaments in his knee. I swear, if the reports are true, I have never heard of someone recovering that quickly. He\'s a hot name, so I\'m sure I could get a couple of 3rd rounders for it, and that would be worth it, in my opinion.

The waiting drove me mad....

I don\'t particularly like our qb corp., but I don\'t think the Saints are going to do anything about it. In Bouman, they have an older guy with less future potential that Jake, BUT he\'s not likely to become a fan favorite, so Haslett will love him. They\'re pretty high on O\'Sullivan - I think they said he would be ready to be a number two QB in a year or two... they\'re obviously seeing something I\'m not, b/c what little I saw of him stunk. This Finlen kid is supposed to be good - and by good I mean good for a guy who played at Northern Illinois and was unsigned his first year or two out of college. Still, our Mueller said he thought he could be another Jake Delhomme. We\'ll see. Frankly, I\'m not sold on any of them yet - that includes Aaron Brooks.

As for Willis - well I completely agree with B&B. Either he was not as hurt initially as everyone said, or he isn\'t as recovered right now as he and his agent are saying he is. It simply isn\'t possible to recover from surgery to repair every major ligament in your knee in less than three months. Yes, there are guys who have recovered completely from major knee tears, but it almost always takes an entire season or longer. Regardless, there are still far far more people who never fully recover from a single tear in their knee or a single ligament. They don\'t ever get full range of motion back, or live with pain, etc. To believe that McGahee, after tearing his MCL, ACL, and ICL in the same knee he tore ligaments in in high school could fully recover in three months is crazy. Somethings not stirring my Kool-aid.

Also, keep in mind that the reason Willis was going to declare for the draft this year, regardless of the situation, is because had he stayed at Miami, he would have lost his starting position to Frank Gore, and that would have affected where he was selected in the draft, and thus, affecting how much he would get paid. Gore was to start as a true freshman last year, but ended up injured, and Willis filled in quite nicely for them.

Hey man - you\'re right - it looks like he\'ll go earlier than I thought. All I\'m saying is either A. he wasn\'t as hurt as everyone made out, or B. he\'s not as well as he and his agent are making out. Bottom line is that you don\'t recover from something like that in two months and a half months.
