Now, if we are discussing Brooks' interview, fine. Give me a SPECIFIC comment that Brooks made that makes him moronic. Don't speak in generalities.

...and we'll go from there.

Sure Billy. Whatever you say. I'm done with this.

Brooks' tone is petulant and whiney. His choice of words (for lack of a better phrase because I believe that English is difficult for him) suggests that he's not the leader of the team, but just a poor guy being dissed for no good reason. His answer to the final question on Haslett and his finale of "It is what it is" could be one of the more memorable disasterous interview lines of all time.

I'm surprised he didn't say "It be what it am"

I think they were making fun of us in a sort of "Do you get what we are trying to say?" kinda way...I'm ready to see the next QB for the rest of the season and I don't mean Bouman, they need to evaluate A-Mac in a game not in training camp, in training camp everyone looks good, example AB vs. Blake!

In respose to the comment that we are not talking about anything specific in AB's interview, how about a paraphrased reading between the lines quote "WAAAAA WAAAAAA WAAAAAA (i suck) I WANNA GO HOME, BENSON IS MEAN, COACH YELLED AT ME WAAAAAA WAAAAA WAAAAA, THE BLACK AND GOLD GUYS THINK I"M DUMB AND SHOULD NOT PLAY ANYMORE WAAAA WAAAA WAAAAAA"

Seriously AB thanks for the memories and (our playoff victory), I wanna see something I have not seen this year, example I'm tired of seeing you sitting on the sidelines laughing while our D tries to keep you in the game, I'm tired of watching Horn, Stallworth, Hakim, and Henderson coming back for underthrown balls and getting their heads spun around, Show me something to entertain me HAZ to keep me watchin and believin', show me A-MAC vs. Carolina or Detroit, I know our D is can make Harrington look like a fool but I wanna see A-Mac run wild on their D, I wanna see more A-Train and ASmith stiff arm some more safeties and plow for 12 yards

Anyone else just wanting to see something else?

Exactly what I thought. It was like, there are first round picks from that draft who have been bounced, and you guys are still sticking with Brooks? Too funny.

In other words, you continue your OPINION that you and everybody else has obviously held for years about him. What SPECIFICALLY makes him an idiot? Why are you questioning the man's intelligence? If he was a crybaby, why hasn't he had this type of interview before? ....and again what did he say that the other 51 (PLUS MITCH BERGER) haven't said?

Let's be specific. I understand that none of you like him and that's fine, we are all entitled to like and dislike, but what SPECIFICALLY can you say to back up your talk about him being an idiot and a moron?

I am simply furious. No fancy adjectives - just furious.

I am an older man, and I haven't seen any physical violence in my life in decades (not since the Army). Listening to that ignorant, illiterate, and classless fool makes me want to pop him in the teeth. How dare he pretend that he knows ANYTHING about hardship this year?

My office was completely destroyed by the hurricane. Everything I owned in my professional environment was taken away by the storm surge, never to be seen again. I am in a temporary facility as I write this, and I have no idea when any new buildings will even BEGIN being constructed. There are no assurances that my job will even remain next year - let alone where I will be working it. Nevertheless, I am thankful to be working and being paid so that I can provide some kind of Christmas holiday for my daughter.

I am expected and required to continuously put out great product. To do any less, I feel, is a stain on me. I don't make excuses for when I screw up and I don't whine because things aren't going my way. You know why? I pass the tent cities on my way to work - seeing those people struggling with absolutely no place to live. I've helped out my friends and neighbors clean the sodden sheet-rock from their home and to stack all of their belongings on the street side. I've heard some people talk about the embarassment they feel saying that they feel as if their whole life and all its intimate details is sitting in the sun for all to see. Many of them have not managed to get their affairs in order enough to even BEGIN rebuilding. My mother-in-law's house was a slab, swept clean except for a few scraps of hardwood flooring.

Terrible sight after terrible sight, and this TOTALLY IGNORANT, FILTHY @$%# dares to whine about his situation?!?! I'm am just sick about this. I pray that Aaron Brooks is no longer on my Saints next year. I just don't know what I'll do if he's still here.

Of all time?

FrenzyFan,

Everything is relative.

Brooks was speaking about the conditions he and the rest of the organization are dealing with RELATIVE TO THE OTHER 31 NFL TEAMS. He made no indication that he felt like in the whole scheme of things his life was horrible. Let's be real here. If based on that interview you don't want him on your team next year then, as I have repeatedly stated, you don't want ANY OF THE 53 players on the current roster to be on the team next year.

If you are frustrated by his play (and that's your opinion), and you don't want him on your team for that reason, then that's different, but because he vented about the RELATIVELY poor conditions that an NFL team is dealing with, which by the way is an opinion shared by many people inside and outside of the organization.

Again - if you don't like him for past transgressions - fine, but don't point to this interview and get into the condescending name calling and personal attacks.

....and saintswhodi, this is precisely why I generally don't post to message boards, because there is usually very little discussion and a whole bunch of hate and personal attacks.

saintswhodi 12-13-2005 12:01 PM

Wait, I said I was done. Why bring me back into it Billy? Noone here has to explain themselves to you. You believe what you wish, and others will do the same. Funny though, you are arguing with me on another forum, and thus, after two consec posts by you with no mention of me, you bring me up again, for no reason, after we both had moved on to other convos. Give it a rest.
