There is no such thing as morale relativity, GPC (or whomever you are), and that is EXACTLY the point. There is right and wrong; good and evil. People who call out relativity are merely seeking to rationalize a point-of-view based upon personal preference.

You generalities about the 53 players on the Saints have NOTHING to do with reality, merely a blind defense of Aaron Brooks' ignorant and selfish rant. There are no 53 interviews out there and making statement about the entire Saints roster is transparently a machination. Is he the only jerk on the team? Nope, but to hide behind generalities to deflect from the blatant stupidity of Brooks interview demonstrates everything I need to know about your position.

Further, there is no one on the entire Saints roster who has expressed an amount of disdain, whining, and pathetic self-pity to even match a fraction of what I heard on that interview. That moronic, cry-baby spent the entire time blaming everyone else and intimating that THEY should do more for HIM, not the team. Brooks could care less about the team, New Orleans, the NFL, the fans; basically anyone but Brooks - and he is so socially retarded that he doesn't even recognize how petty and characterless that makes him. The history of the Brooks interviews has always shown this about him ("great QB on a good team"). Perhaps I am too charitable, but I believed the broad scope of destruction and personal tragedy in this region would touch everyone. Not so with Brooks, and a "leopard can't change his spots."

That's why I don't want him on my team.

Applause Frenzy. One correction though:

("great QB on a good team").
"Great QB, struggling and inconsistent team." :D

Again, EVERYTHING is relative.

To attempt to compare the NFL world and the real world is foolish - there is no comparison. In your business if the email is not working, or if the server goes down, or if your computer is too slow, you would complain - which is perfectly acceptable. Now, do you have a right to be complaining when there are people sleeping under I-10 who have no food or shelter on a regular basis? As bad as it sounds, your professional environment has (relatively) nothing to do with a homeless person's plight.

The interview that Brooks granted to Jim Gray was an interview about his professional environment, not about life in the Gulf South region. If you don't like how Brooks performs on the field and you don't want him around, then fine, but to personally attack him for statements that he made that are WIDELY REFLECTED AROUND THE ENTIRE NFL, INCLUDING JOHN MADDEN, then that is just wrong.

You truly don't realize what you're saying, obviously

Everything is relative, eh? Everything except your opinion, right? Then its not relative, then its "wrong" if you say it is. Priceless.

I cited a lot of examples of the tragic circumstances on the coast. If you became confused, I apologize. My first example was that my ENTIRE OFFICE WAS DESTROYED. It's gone, COMPLETELY.

All of our national competitors still have their offices. They still put out their product, and I am forced to still put out mine. I do not get to complain to the world about how they all still have offices, and that someone else should level the playing field for my company. In short, I don't get to blame everyone else if I put out a crappy product and I get fired, or my company goes under.

In my personal PROFESSIONAL environment, the last thing I need on my team of employees is someone who puts out crap and then blames everyone else for it or spends all his time whining about how other company's have it better.

I wasn't going to post anymore on the subject of AB's interview dribble, but for the sake of GPC2 this is my last word on this subject. I am one of the people Frenzy spoke about being homeless. But I am not asking for pity nor am I whinning in interviews to deflect responsibility as AB is doing. BTW great post Frenzy! AB belongs to a millionaires club that he is not qualified to belong to let alone deserving to be in the NFL. I read your posts with the same disdain that I had listening to AB's interview.

Did the Saints have the same facilities that other NFL teams had this year?
Is it acceptable for an NFL team to dress out in a high-school locker room?
Did any other NFL team have to play "home games" in 3 (four if you count preseason) different stadiums this year?
Did any other NFL team have to move equipment, and everything else to a water works building this year?
Does any other NFL team not know where they will play or practice next year?
Is it wrong for a player on an NFL team to RESPOND to a question by a member of the media regarding the status of his team?
Is it wrong for a player to voice what MANY OTHER players on his same team have voiced?
Is it appropriate for frustrated fans to personally attack and degrade a player on their favorite NFL team?

Great posts Frenzy, hats off buddy...I was blessed enough not to be affected by katrina but my grandmother is living at my uncles because her house got 4 feet of water in it, and two weeks ago was diagnosed with cancer, she just had major surgery and is not complaining as much as AB, she is gutting it out to see me graduate from college this Spring...That is a leader that is someone worth respecting...

As far as suggesting that there is no reason to insult AB's intelligence, just watch the guy for more than 15 minutes, I guarantee you that in that span of time you will see some sort of bonehead play...Yeah I don't think he is very smart...they dumbed down the offense for him this year and he still can't read the defense and call a good play consistently...that's what it is all about with him...HE HAS NO CONSISTENCY...great qb's have that at least for one game at a time...heck, I would settle for one half at a time

jrmllb 12-13-2005 01:55 PM

They have had it rough this year moe so than any other team, I get that, but stop whining man up and play like you have a heart

GPC2 12-13-2005 02:33 PM

My entire point, which was obviously missed by everyone here, even though it has been proven in most of the responses is that y'all hate him based on what he has/hasn't done on the field. I am strictly, as saintwhodi claims to be doing, speaking of the interview, and what he said IN THE INTERVIEW that made him a moron. Since

right?

Again, I WON'T ARGUE ABOUT HIS MERITS/LACK OF MERITS on the football field, I simply got agitated for the demeaning tone of the posts regarding his answers to a requested interview that are indicative of the feelings of the rest of his teammates, coaching staff, and other media pundits around the league. Do a quick search on this very website and you will find people completely unrelated to the Saints organization making the same points that Brooks was making.

If you hate Brooks because he's a terrible quarterback, fine. gandhi1007 I respect you, you said what you meant. For everyone else, let's not make this out to be one man making ridiculous statements that are way off base. Because essentially you all are "shooting the messenger", which you actually intend to do, but are claiming that the message is the problem.

JUST ADMIT IT, IT AIN'T THE MESSAGE - IT'S THE MESSENGER.

If y'all want to be angry, be angry at an owner who could have brought his team "home" a month ago to a perfectly good, state of the art practice facility (which just so happened to be paid for by the State of Louisiana), but chose to keep them in San Antonio, practicing in RELATIVELY pitiful conditions.

Better yet, let's focus on getting "our" team home, let's spend some of the negative energy on something a little more positive.

This will be my last response to this thread, as it seems fairly obvious this is going nowhere. You can believe whatever you like, and I don't care in the slightest.

My opinion, and it is mine no matter what way other posters attempt to color it, is that Aaron Brooks is a moronic simpleton, with no character or heart. This opinion is based upon his conduct over the years and compounded by this interview. It is also my opinion that no other player on this team has expressed this much lack of moral courage and character. Finally, there is no one on this team who has been coddled and babied more, and thus has earned the right to complain less.

He is dispicable, and this interview demonstrates it perfectly.
