I just wanted to say that I think Loomis and Haslett played the patties for all they were worth. It was great how they scheduled all those safety prospects to come and visit even though they had absolutely no intention on signing them.Once the patties saw that the saints were willing to move on, those trade talks picked up really quickly. They even scheduled a visit with Victor Green who split time with Jones last year. The patties knew that they couldn't get near as much for him. Thus it looks like we played our cards just right. We only have to give up a third and a late round pick this year, and a mid round next year.If Tebucky pans out this will be a great move. What do you guys think?

I was thinking more along the lines of two picks this year or two split over the next two years. I think Jones\' play better improve if we give up two 3rds and a 6th or something like that. That\'s potentially two Cravers and a Sammy Knight for one TJ. I like the trade, don\'t get me wrong, I just think Tebucky had better pan out.

WhoDat is right. Tebucky better pan out for the Saints if they are giving up that much for him. Loomis and Haslett may look smart now, but if it\'s another \"Albert Conell\" signing, then they\'ll look like fools. It all comes down again to not knowing what will happen until they step on the field. If the deal goes through, hopefully it will be for the better. If it works, then that will seriously help the Saints and they may not trade up for that corner or DT they want. They could possibly just keep their two first rounders. I guess we\'ll all see in the next week or two what transpires.

People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people.

Thanks D... although, I would still like to see the Saints surrender their first (17) and third to move up the few spots they need to pick up Trufant if they can. Trufant at 12 or so, Bailey or Henderson at 18, and a DT in round two. TJ, Trufant, Bailey/Henderson, and a DT should help this D out a lot. A good veteran leader could solidify this defense.

I guess I am the only one to hate this deal. If tebucky Jones was that great why he had to split time on the field with Victor Green. This team need to stop trying to find diamonds out of rubble and get player that can help this team like Taeko Spikes. The time to take chances are in the draft. Don\'t get me wrong Tj have talent but he hasn\'t done anything to make me think he is worth those many draft picks :casstet:

what do we give up a 3rd rd and hopefully 7th rd cuz we only have left is 5th? Why give them anything else? I don\'t agree with giving them a mid round pick next year. For the saints sake I hope this guy be another Joe Horn.

I am resolving myself to the deal not being done. The pats already have two picks in the 4th, 5th and 7th this year, I dont see where that holds much inducement to move off the 2nd. although ESPN speculated that The saints offered the #78 and the #4 nest year and the pats countered with #78 and another 3rd next year.

Now the Boston papers say the 3pick deal is for real and will get done Monday.
Instead of the 2#3s the pats get 1#3 this year and a 4th next which was the saints last positon, I guess the 7th was the final inducement.

This is a very good signing for the Saints. He will be an enforcer back there for you
He will save some big pick ups being able to catch recievers from the back.

Good deal. One need position is taken care off. He won\'t be going to the Pro Bowl, but he\'ll probably (hopefully?) have a good year. At least he\'s not another question mark, he\'ll be solid at worst.
Regaring the draft: I would still like the Saints to just hang on to #17 and #18. Priority: DT. Select the best player available with the other pick, regardless of need (like Polamalu or ...ahm ... Bailey if he\'s available - I wasn\'t very high on him but those workout numbers ARE impressive).
