Will the Saints move to San Antonio?

New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson and NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue have reached an agreement to return the displaced team to its state-owned training facility in Metairie, La., after the season ends Sunday, sources have told the San Antonio Express-News.

Tagliabue is expected to inform the team's players and coaches of the decision when he meets with them today in San Antonio, said sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

League spokesman Greg Aiello declined comment Thursday night.

The agreement likely eliminates the possibility of the Saints playing home games at the Alamodome in 2006.

Still holding out hope for the Saints moving here? Do you even care anymore? Tell us what you think.

It just goes to show you that some people in San Antonio actually supported city officials in their attempts to raid the city of New Orleans. Let me tell you, for ever resident they keep because of Katrina they will get some bucks and as if that wasn't enough they wanted to actually take the team when the city of New Orleans was down and have the nerve to be mad because it didn't work out for them. I don't have to tell you the rest of what I am thinking right this second.

CheramieIII- I am with you 100 percent on this. I think it is totally rotten that the city of San Antonio is attempting to raid the city of New Orleans for the Saints. At the same time, I cannot blame them for trying. Obtaining major league sports is a very rare opportunity. For a city to be able to host major league sports is usually a great boost for both image, and local economy. The NFL is the king of all major league sports. If San Antonio were to obtain the Saints, that would help solidify their position as a big time city, and pour tons of additional money into their economy. No wonder why they want the Saints so bad...

At the same rate, the Saints would help boost New Orleans to the image it once had and add mega bucks right back into the city's economy. I don't have to ask you which city needs the economy boosted more than the other.

To me, this was a clear choice from the get go. There should be no debate about it. Stay in New Orleans.
