Texas' Young leaning toward dodging NFL Draft

Vince Young hasn't studied the 2006 NFL draft nearly as much as he has the Southern California defense that he will face in the Rose Bowl on Wednesday evening, in a game that will determine the national champion.

But the University of Texas quarterback and some of the people advising him about his football future have perused the composition of the top 10 teams in the draft. And the makeup of the top 10, especially the franchises with the first five choices in April, might be enough to convince Young to return to the Longhorns for his senior season in 2006.

RE: Texas

Which would be a very smart decision... I still don't see how so many people view him as a top 10 pick. If we were drafting athletes, definately. But as far the being a top quarterback, he's certainly not ready. If he continues to improve like he's been doing the past couple of years, I think he will be a top 10 pick next year. Every year he gets better and one more year of seasoning will definately not hurt him.

RE: Texas

..well, the makeup of the franchises picking up 1-5 is usually pretty bad, regardless... the question is, how much money is he willing to lose/gamble on? If Texas wins tonight, and Young has a very good game, which he would need to have to beat the Trojans, his draft stock would skyrocket over Leinart's.. He may not be ready to start in the NFL, but he'll go top 5, and get the signing bonus that goes with those picks...

RE: Texas

Wait till next year the top 5 teams drafting will be about the same, with the exception of the Saints of course.
