So, let me get this straight. The Saints are moving training camp from Thibodaux to Metairie because of the heat and humidity? Last time I checked Metairie was in southeast La. . How do you move anywhere in southeast La. and escape heat and humidity ? I seem to remember the Saints moving from Hammond to Lacrosse Wi. to escape the heat and humdity, now that make sense ! Although I am actually happy that they are moving to Metairie because this will give me more of a chance to see them in camp, the reasoning makes no sense. :casstet:

Actualy it\'s the rain, No indoor facility in Thibodaux, new multi-million dollar indoor facility at home. Remember all the screwed up pratice days because of rain last year? Plus the new pratice field has A/C, no heat in there. Sorry for the fans and buisnesses in Thibodaux, but it is a better move for the Saints.

I think this is a very good move for the Saints organization. From the talking and reading about it I\'ve done, it seems the only people who are against it are the ones who wont be getting their annual windfall from Saints fans this year.

The Picayune quoted some legislators who were very upset over the decision. I can almost guarantee you that each of these legislators in some way had their hands in the pot - so to speak

Joe McPherson of Woodward shouted \"Lie, lie, lie,\" into the House microphone. When did the Saints lie about this? The agreement was that the Saints would honor the contract to hold training camp in Thibodaux until they felt it wasn\'t feasable. All they had to do was pay $50,000 to get out of the contract. If they paid the buy-out, what\'s the lie?

\"Senate President John Hainkel, R-New Orleans, said he also is disappointed and feels betrayed by the Saints. \'I have questions about any credibility they have left,\' Hainkel said. \'If you give your word you ought to keep your word . . . I ain\'t handling any legislation for them\' in the future.\" -Brian Allee Walsh.

How does this move equate to a betrayal of a New Orleans legislator? If you take the cynicle view of polititions -as I do - you have to wonder about the motives of someone like this. My guess is this guy is losing out on some form of kickback from a Thibodaux legislator for getting the Saints there in the first place. If I lived in New Orleans, I wouldn\'t \"handle\" voting for him again.

Anyway, that\'s my rant about the criers we as a state send to Baton Rouge and my approval of the move -as if they need it.

Great move I think. Of coarse some greedy political cats don\'t like it, some other fat cats just got paid. But, as far as football goes, it\'s a good deal.
