Hawk won't improve that. Vilma had all the hype coming out and he has improved the Jets defense and look at where the Jets are....almost right after us in the draft.
We need playmakers- I don't care if it's the mascot, if the guy can bring it, and is the best player available, draft him. I feel good about our running back group, our defensive ends, and our cornerbacks, though we could use some depth there. Maybe Hilton can continue his improvement and secure the tight end position, I don't know. But we need playmakers- as many as we can get.

Sure the bears went to the play-offs with a strong D and a strong middle linebacker. What makes yall think we can do it?
What makes you think we can't? We sign or draft another safety, defensive tackle, and some linebackers, this defense might be able to take the next step.

We need to score points and if Bush is there (probably wont be) but you take him. Twelve carries, a few catches, and return kicks and punts.
Agreed. If Bush is there, he is the best player available, you take him. That would mean an overload of players at that position, so some moves would have to be made. Or trade the pick. The Jets would take Bush if they could.

If not, take a franchise qb like lineart. I hate the guy, but he's a winner and a good qb.
Agreed

Our defense was in the top 15 with Venturi coaching them. Our defense is not the biggest problem right now.
No, not having enough playmankers on both sides of the ball is the biggest problem. A good defense, and a bad offense will get you further than 3-13. This is not a good football team right now, period.

Yall wanted to give up the farm for Eli a couple years back and noew we dont have to give up nothing for a quarterback as equal if not better than Manning and yall would rather draft a linebacker? I don't understand
Who did? I don't remember those conversations, all I remember was we better get either Vilma or DJ Williams. We end up with who? Will Smith, even though we were stocked at the position, because he was the best player available. Look how that turned out now, two years later- the best player on our defense. But I'm with you, we need to secure our QB of the future now. It's going to take, on average, three years for a QB to become accustomed to the speed of the NFL- why push this out another year, in the hopes of drafting someone like Quinn, when it's not even guranteed. But when the 2nd round begins, we damn well better take a long hard look at the linebackers that are still on the boards, because I cannot go through another year of mediocrity at that position, I can't do it.

The waiting drove me mad....

The Saints i think need to stop this stuff just pick up bush if he's there if not Leinart and the trade brooks and deuce for a couple of good DF players and then they might just play.

They do this every year D, and they dont get crap they take DF all the time no OF not even when they might get a pretty good pick of OF this year which they should go for.

I agree, we need playmakers..So, why not get one on the offence side of the ball where we need it the most? To me it seemed every time we did get a turnover, our offence couldn't translate them in to points. Everyone complains about Brooks and his erratic play and stupidness, so why not solve that problem for years to come with getting a franchise QB? Bush would be a fantasy to have, but I doubt tthat will ever happen with the Carr situation. We need a LT, and QB more than anything and maybe a center before long.

Well, we had a better D this year that the last few years and it seems we were better then. So, I feel the offence is more important than the defense.

I like our safety situation with Smith and Bullocks. I think Bullocks played well as a rookie and can only get better. We CAN pick up DT and a LB via FA so why would we need to draft a LB in the first round when we have other needs?

I don't disagree with you at all. As things stand right now, Lienart is my #1 pick, because I think Bush will go #1, and I desperately want to draft a future QB. But changes could happen, and you have to be open to the possibility of looking at Bush or Lienart- what are you going to do? I trade the pick, I believe there are some teams that would bundle alot to get their hands on Bush. Gotta take that into consideration as well. When that 2nd pick rolls around, and you're sitting there, with somebody like Bobby Carpenter or Chad Greenway sitting there, you're not going to take this guy? Players slide all the time. You want a Day 1 starter out of your 2nd round pick, especially one so high.

I remember hearing about it on the radio, but I can't remember the % they use to deduct from the value. I'm worthless in the mornings.

What I wanna know is, why do people keep saying we should cut or trade Deuce? WE CAN'T. Just stop it. We are stuck with Deuce. We can cut AB. And we CAN'T trade Howard, cause after the season he will no longer be under contract. We can put a transition tag on him, but then we have to pay him 120% of what he made last year, which was what, like 9 million dollars? So we would have over 10 mil tied up in Howard hoping we could trade him, which we should have done last year. That will beon our cap, until we removed the tag, or traded him, which would be through the FA period.
