Thats what confuses me. The guy was barely a top ten talent before the game and then after that one game he is the greatest thing since sliced bread. What gives? I think the guy is talented but I just dont believe that he belongs in the same class as Linehart.

I agree completely that Young is an all-time warrior with tremendous testicular fortitude. He is a born leader. I would love to have him in the black and gold next year. That being said, no one in their right mind can argue that Young is quicker or faster than Vick. Vick is one of the quickest and fastest players in the league. I am quite aware of the difference between quickness and speed. Vick has the advantage in both categories over Young. Not that it means a damn thing because Young is a much stronger runner and breaks many more tackles than Vick ever will. They have two completely different styles of running. I think Young will ultimately be the better pro. He is a better passer than Vick was coming out of college.

Come on Sarge, cut Young some slack he just beat the best QB in college football all by himself and he actually engineered a last minute drive to win the most important game maybe of all time.

i don't know what magazines you read, because they must be very very out-dated. vince young prior to the rose bowl was considered top 5. after the rose bowl #1, the reason why you didn't notice is because you weren't watching.

Not really... talent wise he was already considered by many as a top 10 talent. I think it was more of a question of whether or not he's polished enough as a quarterback to make that jump. Before the game I thought he was going to continue to develop and be a top 5 pick next year but definately not this year. I think he's still raw and needs more seasoning. But, what better way to go out than on top beating USC with Leinart and Bush on the other team.

Why all the focus on running. Thats what our RBs are for. Running QBs dont have a good track record in the NFL. They are always stopped by either injuries, defenses figuring them out, or the fact that they are able to make the nessecary throws.

Im not saying that he can't but I don't know if VY can make the nessecary throws.

sarge06 01-08-2006 05:57 PM

I know Linehart can.

CheramieIII 01-08-2006 05:58 PM
