RE: Re: RE: why is it that.......
I see people talking bad about the OL and how a Lienart would be killed. Well, let's look at the total number of sacks given up per game: 1, 4, 3, 1, 4, 2, 4, 6, 3, 1, 1, 2, 3, 1, 1, 4. For a total of: 41 or 2.5 per game. It that good? No. Is it David Carr ego crippling? No. Also remember that five of thos games were against the top three D's in the NFL and that's not so bad.
In fact Carolina (#3D) had only 2 sacks against us, in two games. Chicago (#2D) had a respectable 3, in one game. And Tampa Bay (#1D) had 6, in two games. Todd Bouman had only a 2.25 sack per game ratio, and he's not considered a mobile QB, Aaron Brooks had a 2.66 sack per game average, and he IS considered mobile.
The point here is that the OL isn't so bad that a non-mobile QB would be screwed. But that the two QBs that were there WERE BALL HOLDERS, not throwing it away when it needed to be. A good QB with good D reading abilities will get rid of it and I think Matt Lienart has a slight edge over Vince Young in that area. Guy's the extra year has to count for something.
