Hass, a senior, won the Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top receiver last week. He set a Pacific-10 record with 1,532 receiving yards this season, becoming first player in conference history with three seasons of 1,000-plus yards receiving.
The former walk-on who wasn’t recruited by any Division I programs, holds Oregon State records with 3,924 receiving yards and 220 career catches. He shares the school record for career receiving touchdowns with 20.

How many years do we have lead the nfl in dropped passes because we went for speed? Here is my guy mid second if we do trade down. no doubt in thrid if he is still there. 6-1, 209 lbs Oregon St. He lacks great speed but he goes over the middle and puts his body on the line and he has hands. We do not have that. Donte flinches after a good shot. Joe can not be only oneor he never will make it to the end of his contract. Well the jury is still out on Henerson. Zach could be our answer at TE. so all we are missing is that mid range crazy man over the middle. Then your speed guys are free to run.

Any one ever watch this kid play?

Right were i have him late first day pick. He is s about the late teen's or early twenties rated reciever in the draft at most sites. On a scalle 1 to 5 he gets a 3. I think it is do to the fact he is a tweener at reciever. But with his hands and playing style i only see him moving up the boards as draft day approaches. So this is why i would trade down take AJ and pick up that additional second round pick.

Has outstanding hands and adjusts well to poorly thrown passes...Shows tremendous concentration and focus...Good size with a solid frame...Runs excellent routes and knows how to get open...Not afraid to go over the middle...Superb downfield blocker...Very smart and a hard worker whose intangibles are off the charts...A gamer...Extremely productive.

Weaknesses:
Lacks elite timed speed...Is not very quick or explosive...Not much of a deep threat and won't stretch the field vertically...Will have trouble separating from pro defensive backs...Doesn't provide much in terms of running after the catch...Will take a beating due to his fearless style of play...Might have a limited upside.

Notes:
Had an amazing senior campaign in 2005...His computer numbers and physical tools won't impress you but this guy is a true football player...Not very flashy but he does all the little things that help a team win games...Should be a reliable #2 or #3 option and a classic possession receiver at the pro level

Well, I could think of a lot of WRs that came in to the leauge "lacking speed" that still had very productive careers. I say go for it. Catching a 10 yard pass and not advancing is better than dropping a 30 yard pass.

In games that I've seen him play, though he "lacks speed" (which I think is very over rated), he catches a lot of deep balls and always makes the clutch catches. Think Ricky Proel with a higher upside IMO. Ricky P. has had a very productive 15+ year career. I don't mind us consider taking him, but we have more important needs day one in the draft. Remember we already have a tall and fast receiver on our team... Chase Lyman! Oh yea baby just wait til he doesn't injury himself one of the next couple of seasons. :wink:

lol we could only hope. We have so much talent year in and year out on IR it's sick. It is always the same guys. I preach defense first but WR is a big problem. Way to much hype at this position. I want 2 LB,s DT, OG or C. LOT, this year first. Hell throw in two turtle doves while your at it. This kid is my pick for shaking up WR and showing them how to shut up and go to work. I am glad you got to see him play also and thanks for seeing what i saw. I am not crazy.

Hey, didn't you know I'm president of the Chase Lyman fan club? :P

Please give us a few years of great hands over blazing speed. We have speed but no hands NOW. Dropped balls abound with the Saints, and a QB that smiles way TOO much.

Where is Lyman? Rehabilitating his already injured leg for 2006? LMFAO
