Would you make this trade?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; According to Chris Mortenses, Kubiak likes David Carr. Gary said "barring some big trade down, Reggie Bush will be their guy" regardless of what the fans want. I added that last part but it was a part of the comments....

Carr does not scare me. He might agree to it but why would texas do this? I would not save them $$$ and would not correct there biggest problem unless they trade 2 and get OL help they need sooo bad. You guys think AB hears footsteps. Carr hears them in the shower. Hmmm Quinn in 2006? tempting

I am not sure I would do this. Our first pick would be #33 and we would have a questionable QB. TOugh one.

In a heartbeat. Then we trade Brooks for another backup QB cut Bouman and pick up the best 2 linebackers on the board in the second round. The O-Line the rest of the way. All we would need at that point would be a stud DT in FA.

I'm a big fan of Carr's, but I'm also a big Leinart guy myself. Both will have large contracts and I think Carr's end at the finish of next season. So what if he decides to bolt on us?

That trade does give us a nice chunk of high drafts picks... but no first this year? I'd be a little disappointed we wouldn't have the opportunity to draft a Leinart, Hawk, Williams, Greenway, Ngata, etc. So... I'd think about it, but I'll probably pass and take a Leinart or trade down into the top 10 to acquire more picks. I'm pretty sure someone would give us a nice offer say... switch first rounders and they kick in an extra second rounder next year or a 3rd this year and something else the year after. It all depends how bad some of these teams want a chance at one of the threesome... we might be able to rip someone off. 8)
Like I told BMG, the only way i'd pass on Leinart is if someone gave us a Ricky Williams draft worth of picks. This would be pretty damn close. We might be able to get Eric Winston in the second plus a stud LB. Not to mention a high first and second next year? Carr doesn't work out, we have two firsts and two seconds to make a move for him. Carr works out, damn we could come up. I dunno.

.. I would love to see what Carr could do with 2-3 seconds of pocket protection... I'd take it.
