While I agree that we should trade, I don't think we should trade at any cost. If a team is trying to lowball us just because they know we want to get out of the #2 spot, then we would be stupid not to take Leinart. It's not as simple as trade trade trade.

Niether do I. I really believe they're are at least a couple of teams that will do a "Ricky Williams" to get Leinart or Young, so I think we will get alot.

Yes its simple when you have a RB Bush you take him, if you have a special player like Young you take him... Leinart will not be the answer, trade the pic... and it will be very easy... HINT: Oakland wants Leinart.

I do agree with the Bush pick. He's the one player I would take over Leinart in that spot. However how do you justify taking Young in that spot and not Leinart??? Young is just as unproven as Leinart is. Plus like you said what OL or DL free agent will want to come to the Saints and block for an unproven QB. You bring either Young or Leinart here and they will struggle in their rookie year. And if the right trade isn't there and Bush is not there at #2 take Leinart. He's the highest rated player on the board at that point. Or do you not like Leinart at all????

Young is undefeated in big games and had less talent around him for one. More talent, more athletic, can put a team on his shoulders and take them to a victory. Youngs team had the 13th highest strenght of schedule against Lein's 20th. There is a dram on completion percentages 65.23-65.66, but the passer rating hands down is Young 163.9 to Leinarts 157.7 Sorry I have to go with Young... as a starting QB on a team that needs a leader to show them what he can and will do to win, you have to take young.

I'm betting that because of the acute need for quality QB's right now, many more teams would like to switch up and grab Young over Leinart because he has more upside. I say let'm if that's what they want.

I think a lot will depend on whether Payton wants to make a science project of AB or he wants to nurture ML into a great NFL QB. If chooses neither of those scenarios then you may see a trading of the #2 pick.

i agree that it is very hard to nail down what should happen in the draft until you start to solidify your team through free agency... rookie quarterbacks usually have a rough go at it for their first year (a la eli manning), but we are talking about the most successful starting quarterback in college football history... don't get me wrong, i'm not totally sold on leinart (i think that he may be a product of having an immense amount of talent around him), so i'm not saying we definitely take him, but considering we NEED a new quarterback and he's the best quarterback (vince young is the best athlete that plays quarterback, but not the best quarterback) it makes sense... personally, i think we have to get some more picks, but not at the expense of getting perhaps a future all-pro quarterback...

You best go look at the stats dude Leinart isn't the best QB. Thats why we need to trade down.

actually i think cutler has the chance to be better then both leinert and young... he was a really good qb on a very bad team... ala eli manning...and he played in the SEC against many of the top Defenses in the nation....
