Hasbeen has a home . . .

ST. LOUIS (Ticker) - Jim Haslett's only playoff win in six seasons as coach of the New Orleans Saints came against the St. Louis Rams. Now he will try to help the Rams get back to the postseason.

New Rams coach Scott Linehan named Haslett as his defensive coordinator and Greg Olson as his offensive coordinator on Tuesday.

  :chainsaw:

The guy was a great defensive coordinator. They'll probably be good on D. But he's not a head coach.

Can't believe I scooped Cheramie on this one . . . he must be taking a siesta! Yea I agree Halo, I really wish him well. I think he just did all he could do with the Saints given the circumstances and all involved parties.

spkb25 01-24-2006 01:21 PM

god pick up for st.louis

TallySaint 01-24-2006 05:08 PM

Hey Bogey, I was at work. Give a fella a break, can't be earning my duckies and here at the same time, but I try, I try.

I wish the Rams were still in our division, cuz we already know the dude and it would be no problem running through them unless he decides that he wants to actually coach again. He just ran the Saints into the ground. Good job Hasbeen and I still wish you didn't have a job.

spkb25 01-24-2006 06:34 PM

haz is a good d coord. probably a bad head coach but good dcoord.

CheramieIII 01-24-2006 06:38 PM

Hey 25, I won't believe that until I see it again. That man had a whole lot of pride trusting in AB as long as he did, wouldn't trust him with a ten foot pole.

spkb25 01-24-2006 06:38 PM

well i said defense not offense

D_it_up 01-24-2006 07:24 PM

I think it's hilarious. Another reason for me to not like the Rams.

gandhi1007 01-24-2006 07:25 PM

Damn, I wish we had St. Louis twice on our schedule next year. You know everybody's gonna' run the ball down their throat.

and you know this mannnnnnnnnnn!

LongTimeFan 01-24-2006 08:07 PM

He should do well, he knows all about the defensive side of the game, it's the offensive side he's not quite sure of.

He knew all about defense the whole time he was in N.O. It didn't stop him from consistently producing piss poor defenses year in & year out.

LongTimeFan 01-24-2006 08:26 PM

Can't blame it all on Haslett, might want to put some of the blame on the front office, Benson on down, I hope that Sean get's more support from Benson and the team than what Haz got, don't get me wrong, it was time for him to leave but to say it was all Haz who screwed the team up would be unfair.

gandhi1007 01-24-2006 08:32 PM

Not all his fault, but he was the Head Coach.

CheramieIII 01-24-2006 08:44 PM

Let's break those words down:

Head: what people in the military call the pisser or shiiiiter.

Coach: what Saints fans call the pisser or shiiiiter.

How funny is that shiiiiiiit!

HE WAS STILL THE HEAD COACH OR WAS THAT HEAD NURSE OR WAS THAT HEAD.................oh forget it. He was in charge, PERIOD!!!

CHACHING 01-24-2006 10:16 PM

We were ranked 14 in defense this year right....
Last year 32.....
holla....

Haz' problem in New Orlean was with discipline, and discipline is extemely important on D. What makes anyone think that he'll be able to instill that with the Lambs? Too bad we're not playing them this year.

hagan714 01-25-2006 08:28 AM

Haz's problem was Mickey Mouse. He got gutted every year of players and was always putting the team puzzle together. Mickey kept the main names for tickets and dumped some good supporting cast. Sure Haz has to take blame but it comes down to how the front office supports you also. Mickey knows nothing about the word team.
