5:33 PT: Updating previous reports, Mlive.com reports the Detroit Lions are in negotiations with two teams about a trade for DT Shaun Rogers, including the New York Jets. The Lions would be looking for a first-round pick in a deal for Rogers, and if they do get one, they would not select Michigan State WR Charles Rogers with the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft. Instead, they would turn to either Penn State DT Jimmy Kennedy or Kentucky DT Dewayne Robertson, most likely drafting a receiver in the second round.

Good, young DT. I wouldn't be suprised if the other team this article is referring to is the Saints, although, I'm not sure if I would part with a 1st rounder for him. 2nd rounder, sure, but not sure about a 1st rounder. Hardest thing to swallow about this article is that they would pass on Charles Rogers if the trade went through. He's a legitimate freak, who I have no problems forcasting as Offensive Rookie of the Year...right now.

i beleive that this is just another pre draft rumor, why would the lions, who have been projected as drafting rogers, think about not drafting him about one week before the draft!!! b/c of some \"piss\" issues.....B.S.

Even if they don\'t like Rogers anymore I have a hard time believing they would turn to Kennedy or Robertson. More likely scenario: Get the next WR in line, Andre Johnson. I still have them drafting Roges by the way.
