RE: Gardner gets a contract!

Well at least he's going to get some playing time... he's still a young guy, I think he'll get another chance somewhere if he's productive over there. The talent is definately there...

Way to go Gardner.

I always liked him and pulled for him, once got out of Seminoles country. After all, I'm still a Canes fan.

Tiger-Cats sign former Saints receiver Talman Gardner

Tiger-Cats sign former Saints receiver Talman Gardner

HAMILTON (CP) - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats bolstered their receiving corps Wednesday, signing former NFL wideout Talman Gardner to a one-year contract Wednesday with an option for 2007.

The six-foot-one receiver spent the past three seasons with New Orleans, playing in 21 games for the Saints. "Talman is a player I have watched since he played collegiately at Florida State and then during his years with the Saints," Tiger-Cats director of player personnel Craig Smith said in a statement. "With his size and speed, Talman has the chance to step in and be a contributor for us right away."

Gardner, 25, played in 11 games for New Orleans in 2005, and had one reception for 23 yards.

If Talman likes to hit (really hit) and he thinks he can make the transition, then the CFL would be a good place to learn the trade. It certainly makes him more valuable if a team is in need of backups - safeties go down often in the NFL. Big and fast is the current fad in safeties these days. He's certainly going to get a lot of playing time, Hamilton's D sucks.

I dont htink he ws telling the truth when he told me that he was playing Safety I think he will be losing his mind if he was to do that I think he is a godd WR but haslett never gave him the chance so if he gets back into the league he will play WR hopefully.
