Kendrick Clancy DT F/A

Kendrick Clancy DT 6-1 305 lbs. NYG is the defensive F/A that is worth looking at. For the money and a two year deal , I bet he would worth it. Let Young back up both and let Sully determine his future. We all saw what he did against the saints and i watch him alot up here in Patroits country while keeping tabs on Eli. You have to keep tabs on him at all times. He can penetrate up the middle.

Clancy, acquired as a free agent from Pittsburgh, was a true find. He had a pair of sacks, several hurries and made unexpected penetration from the middle. He also coached young Joseph, the other starter and a former first-round pick, who developed into a legitimate NFL DT after two disappointing seasons.
Clancy enjoyed a breakout year in 2005, making 39 stops and 2 sacks. He is the top priority for the G-Men.
But with their need at CB and LB he might be there.

Let Young back up both
Both what?

39 stops and 2 sacks
Doesn't sound that productive to me. Hell, Brian Young had 51 tackles. Willie Whitehead and Jonathan Sullivan (who split time) had 35 tackles/ half a sack and 29 tackles, respectively. Not to mention this Clancey guy was playing with two Pro-Bowlers on the outside, and the focus on the inside sounds like it was more on Joseph. Sure he might be a good player, but would he really be that much of an upgrade? I don't think so.

I magine whitehead and young swapping out with sullivan and Clancy. That would be an upgrade. I would not cut any of the DT we have just add to it. I would draft a DT later in the draft than in 2 or as mock drafts say. i think DT Gabe Watson, Michigan in the 4th will be there, i hope.

Why would you want Young on the bench? He's the best DT we have. Sullivan is listed as 3rd on our depth chart. I'm confused.

Sorry, I was agreeing on picking up Clancey. Saw alot of him this year and he really filled a hole. He was on a front line that had two pro bowl ends. I think we have two that will be pro bowl ends. Smith will be. As for young I really like his play, Period. But Clancy would be an upgrade, unless Sully has a monster offseason and showws up next year. I think he will.

I want Young to play. The bench he would not ride. He is our best but he is also the only one who can play bothsides and not have a drop off. Sully needs to redo his contract. sorry i did not say that. He needs $ based on performance. Young would get more quality playing time than the others by switching beck and forth and stay fresher. face it he is going on 29 and he is not getting any younger. let the young guys determine there future in the next 1-2 years. Whitehead is 32 so his days are numbered. Clancy will give some youth without dropping off. Besides he should be a reasonable price too. Gaints are in a cap fix right now.

Start Sully and clancy. 1st sub is young of the bench for either one. Probly Sully because he will be winded.

That doesn't make sense. Why would you bench your best DT? Young is hands down the best DT on this team. IF we get Clancey, then you start Clancey and Young. Sully comes off the bench for freshness.

RE: Kendrick Clancy DT F/A

young is proven. sully is not. This is probly the last year sully can prove he is not a bust if we do not trade him this year. Younge is a true proffessional and would accept that role and not take advantage of it. by seasons end he and clancy would probly more playing time than sully anyways. but this would, i hope force sully to get off his lazy as* and accept the challange. i would love to see a 3 DT starter rotation. Young would be a "second teamer in name alone". (god i love that qoute from madden.) Instead of 2 guys doing 70% of the work it amount to 3.
the remainder would be whitehead and i hope a draft choice from day one. Then resigning young would make more since because he would not be as beaten up. Long term he is the one that would benifit the most he is 29. I am only trying to get the as many years out of young as i think we can. I am a true young fan. I liked him when he was with rams. Any guy who accepts the challange of the #1 picks the rams threw at him and kept his job is first rate in my book. We need more players that love the game the way he does. I want him to retire with the black and gold.

So handing over the job to Sully on a silver platter without making him EARN it, will make him stop being lazy? I don't see your logic AT ALL. Young will start, period.
