Witherspoon was on the top of my list for free agents to sign. We should have been more aggressive with Witherspoon and not focused so much on Brees

I'm thinking the same thing spkb25. I do believe that we are focusing all of our attention on Brees right now and as a result we are losing out on some other really good free agents.

All the talk in the world of what they want to do in free agency is worthless if it's not acted upon. I posted earlier that I wasn't going to get overly excited unless we made a splash in free agency and the draft. So far, NOTHING! If we get Brees, then O.K. However, if we don't add a couple more good players through free agency, then a Brees signing will be almost insignificant for the upcoming season. I've also posted before that free agency was going to be a pain in the rear for the Saints due to their unsettled situation in the Big Easy. I know other people have said the same thing. Regardless of how much cap room we have to spend on big name free agents, they could be 40 mil under the cap and it wouldn't matter. If some moves are made later on that are impressive, then I'll eat crow. Until then, I knew this would be the situation. I just hope that I'm proved wrong.
