excellent 16 minutes worth!

as with the SD message boards you only sense that people had respect for him- even if they thought it was time to let him go.

I enjoyed every minute it, it seems that Brees is one classy dude, smart QB, something we haven't had in a long time, to be honest with you all, I have faith that we can do well now being we have him on the team, I know we need help for him up front but that will come too.

He's really personable & makes a good interveiw. He's obviously talked to these guys ALOT to be chatting the way he did with them. I hope some radio people do the same in N.O. so the fans there can get the same kind of closeness.

I remember the Chargers had that crap year that garnered them the 1st pick in the draft the following year. They figured that it had to be the QB position so they picked up Rivers in the 1st round. I thought that Brees would maybe put up a challenge in camp for the starting position but inevitably the coaches would feel forced to start Rivers after making him their first pick and spending alot of money for him.
Then I was impressed..

At the start of that years training camp, Brees called a players only meeting and assumed the leadership role and has been the leader of that team ever since. Sounds alot like Brooks, yeah?

He's had some very impressive games (one against the Saints in 2004) and I'm exited that he's here.

i may be too giddy leading the feel the love brigade but damn these last few years have been hard. after katrina and the absolute ass benson made of himself towards the fans here, seeing some changes so aggressive and positive brings a breath of hope to us all. i have watched since gary cuozzo and billy kilmer led the way. sad to think of not just buddy d but all of the devoted fans who only have seen what has been the past. some people do not understand how deep the impact was for the red sox to break "the curse". i believe in a similar fashion people do not know how deeply rooted fan support is for this team and what winning means. sure, high school football across the south is like a religion that other parts of the country know about but do not understand. people read about the tailgating and the experience of tiger stadium on a saturday night, it is special. but our battered and bruised saints have woven their way into the fabric of our society here after 39 years in their own unique way, like family. as the saying goes, i can call my brother a sonuva*****, but if you do i'll break your arm.

a moment of remembrance for buddy. toasting him with a cup-o-java and something stronger for st. pat's tomorrow.
