Going 3-13 was a killer to watch, but it's a new dawn for this team. But sadly it's better than having gone 8-8 and keeping Haslet, Brooks, and only having a mid-first round pick.

the latest from the new york post on the schaub/nyj front-

March 16, 2006 -- JACKSONVILLE - There's no need for Jet equipment manager Clay Hampton to rush getting a uniform ready for Falcon quarterback Matt Schaub.
According to multiple sources out of Atlanta, the Falcons have virtually no interest whatsoever in trading their valuable backup quarterback.
Yes, the Jets, like most teams around the league, covet Schaub. Many have inquired about acquiring him and have been turned away by Falcon management.
And yes, the Jets are desperate to find a team interested in giving them good value for their franchised and disgruntled DE John Abraham, who's visited the Falcons and wants to play there because it's close to his South Carolina roots.
The problem is this: Atlanta, while it likes Abraham, is not willing to part with Schaub nor is willing to trade its 15th overall first-round draft pick to the Jets for Abraham.
According to league sources, Atlanta is hoping the Jets bite and trade them Abraham for a second- and a third-round draft pick. That, of course, would be the same kind of highway robbery the Jets were fleeced on in the Herman Edwards fourth-round draft pick compensation.
"Who wouldn't have an interest in a player the caliber of John Abraham?" Falcon coach Jim Mora told Atlanta reporters yesterday. "The fact is that he's property of the New York Jets. We value Matt Schaub as a player and a person, and we value him as a backup to Michael Vick."
Translation: Schaub isn't going anywhere and Abraham remains stuck as a Jet for now.
Abraham visited Seattle yesterday, but the Seahawks, who reportedly want to match Minnesota's offer to transitioned guard Steve Hutchinson, might be running out of money to spend since the Hutchinson contract the Vikings devised counts some $13 million on this year's salary cap.

i sure hope abraham doesn't land in the nfc south. has anyone heard brooks name mentioned with any team besides speculation? kinda strange that a 5 year starter that you can sign for no compensation isn't even visiting anywhere yet. those gm's must actually be watching some game tapes.
