OG Larry Allen Dallas Cut

Cowboys | Allen released
Tue, 21 Mar 2006 16:51:43 -0800

The Dallas Cowboys have announced the team has released OG Larry Allen.
Allen, the final player left from Dallas' most recent Super Bowl team, is going into his 13th season. No longer the immovable force he once was, the team opted to let him go rather to pay him a $2 million roster bonus he was due April 1. The move also saves them about $3.5 million towards next season's salary cap

Got to have 1 or 2 years left. Do we sign him?[/url]

Well, I just read on another SAINT site that the Cowboys released him because they said he is lazy and overweight. They wanted to release him last year but could not find a replacement for him. I say....let him alone.

I'm with Euph. The Tuna doesn't get rid of old veteran players that he thinks can still play. Pass.

Still can play... my take is that it was a salary cap move. Could be wrong but Fontenot played for a long time and he never was the player Allen was.
