Unlike years past, the FO at least recognizes an area of need. Now we need to make some signings.

Sure we reconize the needs... getting somebody is another story.... I think we need a center type.

Our best bet now for center is to draft Mangold.

You can't start both Mangold and Dbrick and expect the line to protect Brees.

I agree wholeheartedly with this statement. The Raiders tried this a couple of years ago with Robert Gallery at LT and Jake Grove at C. I would compare these two very similarly to D'Brick and Mangold. It turned out bad for the Raiders in their rookie years. Gallery got moved to RT and Grove sat the pine if I remember correctly. These are the two toughest positions to play on the line and starting two rookies is a recipe for disaster.

Mangold is still better than any of the leftovers available at the center position.

Sorry, you must be smoking bad stuff, Bob. Rookies going up against seasoned vets? D'brick will be fine but will still take a year to really jell. Mangold playing center will need to make all the line calls plus handle some of the badest dudes in the NFL ie DTs. Don't think that our guards weren't helped by the play of Bentley too. If I going against this line.... I'm licking my chops. We need to protect Brees better.

Didn't Bentley, who just so happened to have the same resume & came from the same school, do a bang up job his rookie season?
