Terrified!

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I've not seen any quotes from Andrews, Brees' surgeon, on his expectation for full Pro Bowl recovery. His PR firm only said that the surgery went well. That doesn't mean that there aren't any quotes. Just saying... For 10 King ...

For 10 King Sized, I'd like more assurances than a CYA quote from a PR firm.

I remember on SIRIUS nfl radio when they reported Andrews put out a press release saying that Drew will make a full recovery before free agency started. Anyway we have to put our trust in the team docters who checked him over. With us having the chance to draft lienart would they really take a chance on Brees if they did not think he would be okay. Besides shottenheimer was not happy when they let Brees go if he was not going to be able to play why was he so upset. He wanted Brees as his starter and they let him go and made alot of there fans mad so they have to cover there buts if rivers flops. They can say they were worried he would not recover. I say do not worry just enjoy the fact that we have one of the top 5 best QB in the league. When was the last time we were able to say that

Exactly right. He did put out a press release, and another after they acknowledged the injury was a little more severe than first advised. But, doubters will believe what they wish.

Look, I'm as skeptic as anyone that Brees is going to fully recover in time for the opener - and oh do I wish he recovers fully because I really like the guy as a QB - but think about it this way: what do you want Marty to say? "Oh, we are screwed now... Rivers is not ready and we were dumb to let Brees go"??? He's not going to say that... he's got to toe the party line and a) endorse his new starting QB plus b) appease the natives - Charger fans - by planting the seed of doubt of a full recovery of Breesin their minds...

The title of the thread is terrified. Let me tell you the truth: I would be more terrified if Brooks was playing QB for us next year. I would rather have Bouwoman starting at QB, at least we know he's crap.

good one cher. I would be more depressed than terrified if Haz or Leon was still around. I dunno if I would even be around posting. Not much if any. Maybe lamenting the woes of 38 years and how it is all going down in flames now... with Benson laughing all the way to the hell of half a billion+ dollars profit he will make when selling.

But alas my child, fear not. A mighty Brees has blown into town and Saint payton will lead us to the land of Lomardis.

LOL! Only a Saints' fan could come up with this one! "Man, I sure am happy I have Herpes! It COULD have been AIDS! Woot!"

Just kidding, Cher.

Seriously, I am also glad that its anyone but Brooks. Still, I want to WIN and I worry that for $10 million - Brees MAY not have been the best buy for our money, short or long term. Again, I desperately hope that Brees recovers for us this year, as I don't know how we will pay him $12 million next year if he 1) plays like crap this year, or 2) doesn't play at all. The investment seems a bad one.

I'll be ready for the crow-du-jour, of course.

Is Brees the only patient he will ever have in his career, so he can damage his reputation by falsely reporting the expected outcome of a surgery HE performed? Get real.

people talk about them not wanting to give brees alot of money, but doesnt it also have to do with what theyre paying rivers. correct me if im wrong, but dont the chargers have alot of money invested in him also? i mean being a high draft pick im pretty sure he signed a big deal also. they couldnt let him sit on the bench for 3 years paying not to play. i think that has a big part of them letting brees go also.
