There may be something to the "second FA period"

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I just looked at a list of FAs still available on ESPN.com...lots of very good players are still there. One that surprises me is LeVar Arrington. Has anyone seen anything about who he's been talking too? I'm sure his price ...

Has anyone seen anything about who he's been talking too? I'm sure his price is too high for the Saints to consider. Peter Boulware is still there. One thing that surprised me is there aren't very many centers left. We will have to draft a center early on...no later than the second or third round is my guess

2 words, Ty Law. Whats the deal. Why is no one moving on this guy. I've looked online all over and i cant see anybody even interested. All i can see is that he must have the disease of the Lepers.

I believe the knock on Ty Law is he's injury prone now. He was a monster a couple of years ago during NE's Super Bowl run but he was injured early and often last year and quite vulnerable...same holds true for Charles Woodson. Man there are some pretty big name guys still out there...I haven't heard of many people visiting anywhere right now either. Maybe it's because of the NFL meetings or something. But there's plenty of players still available. I'd love to see Arrington in a Saints uniform. If they could get him, that would give us some incredible options in the draft.

Even if he had one leg, he could still run circles around Jason Craft. That guy is garbage, we should have traded him for fourth string punter, we'd be better off.

That was a good one...Jason Craft in my opinion is nothing more than a good nickel back and special teamer...speaking of special teamer is Gleason still with the team? And are they going to re-sign Mel Mitchell?

Ty Law is asking for franchise player money. LaVar Arrington is talking to the Giants, Jags, Dolphins.

I say we give either one of them the money they want. We always play conservative and look how that has turned out. We made a bold move with Brees, but we shouldn't stop there. Lets make a big move on defense and spend some money. You wont get talent unless you pay for it.

Pretty true. But if I had to pick, LeVar because of age. I like the idea to get a big namer, elss high draft picks to use.
