This is almost as bad as Jerry Rice doing "Dancing with the Stars."

I don't think what he's doing is right but I don't see him saying he will be back or not is going to affect them draft wise or free agent wise. It's Aaron Rodgers responsibility to come into every camp ready because he should know he's going to be the eventual successor to Favre. They should prepare as if Favre isn't going to come back and if he does, great... Rodgers will have another season learning the system. Favre is being a little selfish though and I'm starting to see him in a new light. We all know he's coming back... just get it over with it's getting a bit old.

I don't know if that is necessarily true, Papz. Rodgers was Sherman's pick. McCarthy may want someone else.

RE: is favre becoming a joke

I have seen this subject on many message boards today, and the fact that people can't get one thing through their heads pisses me off. THE PRESS CONFERENCE WAS FOR HIS CHARITY EVENT THAT IS GOING ON THIS WEEKEND!!! IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH HIS CAREER!!! IT WAS JUST HYPED BY THE MEDIA!!!

Then that would be a wasted pick TR and it's a little too early to give up on him... I can't see them drafting another quarterback. Well on the first day at least... but I see your point.

In response to the question about Favre's jokey-ness.
I'm not sure he's becoming one, I think he locked that down a couple of years ago when he threw away the playoffs against the Eagles.

The nuttier thing to me is the slurping he's getting from nearly the entire news media. The guy can pull a classic Aaron Brooks moment and somehow it can't be the fault of the living legend.

I read once (I can't remember where, maybe a David Fleming article) that the most dangerous place on earth is between Brett Favre and a TV camera.

My own take: OF COURSE HE'LL BE BACK. He's going to want the non-stop slurping that happens when he retires. The, will he or won't he, business going on now is just him setting the stage for the every week fanfare of him finally retiring. Once he decides to come back I think the Packers should deal him to the Redskins.

Farve needs to make up his mind very very soon for his teams sake, I'm sure this is putting a lot of pressure on the Packers not knowing where they stand with Farve.

I like Brett! He was a great Qb, yes his time has passed, but hey I find this whole press conference HILARIOUS! All the big networks spending $$$ to hear his "announcement" instead hearing they wasted a trip. LOL PRICELESS!! Personally I could care less whether Brett returns, He plays for the packers a team not in the NFC south. The saints play the pack in week 2 regardless of who the qb is they will be ready to play and the saints owe PAYBACK!!! I say let Favre hold the pack hostage thats one less NFC team to worry about!

Forget the past, The Future is NOW! Time to Shine!
