THe BeerDude Is back!

Saints | Team agrees in principle with M. Lewis
Sun, 9 Apr 2006 07:29:26 -0700

Jimmy Smith, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports the New Orleans Saints have agreed in principle on a contract with free agent WR/KR Michael Lewis (Saints). Lewis is returning to New Orleans Sunday morning April 9, according to one of his representatives, Greg Johnson. Lewis will be at practice today, though his injured left knee won't allow him to work out.

I guess we won't be drafting a return specialist.

RE: THe BeerDude Is back!

He did save that game at Tampa Bay for us to keep our playoff hopes alive two years ago...

But you're right, he does need to return to form instead of running out of bounds every time...

It's not like the team could block at all last year, though. After Lewis was out, we tried numerous people in his position. No one did any better. Our team just couldn't block. The run blocking on offense was pretty horrible last year as well.

I'm glad he's back but he has to be the old Beerman not the one we saw last season before he got hurt. And just in case he's not back I hope the take a good look at Skyler Green.

I don't. He ran in the 4.5s at his pro day. He's had injury problems and also fumble problems. I love him because he's a Tiger, but I just don't think he's all that explosive anymore.

the track they ran on at LSU wasnt a fast surface as most of the players ran very slow times... skyler green can still fly, dont let that one 40 time fool you

And he only ran a 4.44 at the combine. I mean, that's pretty fast, but for a guy who's as small as Green is, and especially as injury-prone as he is, he's gotta have that world class speed in order for him to be considered, which he obviously doesn't.
