Meanwhile, other teams are spending time with the Southern Cal QB this week, including New York Jets officials on Monday and Tuesday, a trip to New Orleans on Wednesday and Thursday, and a Thursday night/Friday visit now with the Oakland Raiders.

While the other teams pick in the top four, the Raiders, at No. 7, might be interested in trading up.

“They called and asked if Matt was available after he finished in New Orleans,� Price said. “I’m going to assume from that that they might have some interest in trading up for Matt.�

i would trade with them, but only if they give up their #1 and #2 this year and work out a deal of next year between a #1 thru #4 on how well Matt plays.

Matt will likely sit this year unless Brooks gets hurt, pending the Raiders make a trade, so the next year option of the trade would not go well for us. This would be a perfect "Ricky" deal for us to cap on. If we traded down to number 7 we could likely still get a top notch player like Hawk and all the Raiders other picks.

Raiders are sitting good right now to move up to 4 and if they streach it, to 3. But that would mean dumping picks next year. Matt would sell alot of seats.
2600 - 1500 = 1100 pts. They would have to put in a 2 (520) this year for sure that leaves 580pts. to go or the first pick in round 2 next year. for the break even point. So to move down and miss out on AJ, DBrick and Davis (get Huff) would have to cost an additional 1 next year. Unless we trade out to Tenn (Matt) and Al Davis wants VY at 3 in fear that the jets pick him then a 2 would be fine and one of the 3 (Davis) should drop to us.
