I am just here to steal Diva (or at least her avatars) away from B&B.

Under the needs based approach, it seems to me that we have to take Brick, as he provides the best value at a position that is notoriously difficult to fill.

Wouldn't be mad at a pick of D'Brick, but if they take Hawk, even at two, i'd be FAR happier. We'd have good-great linemen in the past 10-15 years, we have not had good-great LBs.

Pretty sad to say, but i think the best middle linebacker we have had in the last 10 years is Winfred Tubbs. It sure would be nice to see someone step in there and change that.

BUSH...I say there's no way we pass on him if he's there. And if we take him at #2, then we would have to be prepared to keep him. The "take him then trade him" isn't a lock. Who's to say teams won't just continously lowball us since they know he's not a need for us? Plus, we don't know how Deuce will rebound from this injury. I don't think we should be held hostage by his contract if he doesn't bounce back. If he's disappointing this year he should restructure and be the team player that everyone says he is. If not, we could bite the bullet and take the cap hit. I am definitely not of the opinion that Deuce is untouchable. Bush would be a significant upgrade over Deuce.

The sad thing is, pretty much anyone in the top 5 would be a significant upgrade over any of our guys that are starting at that position for us.......Brees with his injury, Duece with his, Brick at the tackle, Hawk at the LB and Williams at the DE.....granted, i kno someone is gunna jump on me with the whole "rookies are unproven and veterans are better" and blah blah blah....but ya kno what.....our guys have PROVEN that they arent all that hot...otherwise wed be pickin around the 28 spot....so......and as for the Bush talk...yea, we pickd Duece when we had Ricky, but i think our FO kinda had a feeling ricky was gunna be shipped out pretty soon.....so that leads us to 2 different spots, QB and RB, so dont be too suprised to hear one of those names pickd, i think Duece has a better chance of being shipped than Brees, but thats just my 2 cents.....

Hawk can play any LB position easily. He was the leader of Ohio State's defense. Don't try to pigeon hole the man. He is exactly what we need.
