Updating previous reports, the Boston Globe reports free agent S Victor Green (Patriots) could sign with the New Orleans Saints this week if the New England Patriots fail to match their offer.

Now this is interesting... are they looking to sign him as a starter? I thought everyone was gung-ho on Mitchell. Is Green going to come to NO to be a back up? Anyone know what the deal is here? Maybe they want him to play linebacker!

thanks for the link, it did not show that, (especially the time, in the kffl hot off the wire i looked at) i stand alone and corrected, humble as i am.........smitty

Green should\'nt cost too much to sign now and it sure would be nice to have insurance in case Mitchell does\'nt work out. Mitchell may turn out to be good, but his main contribution last year was on special teams not at safety. Plus this would let us get rid of Jay Bellemy. He killed us with inept tackling in so many games last year it will be a pleasure to see him go.
