KIPER CHANGING HIS TUNE ABOUT SAINTS

The guy who only weeks ago was soooo sure the Saints were picking Mario Williams with the #2 pick is now changing his tune. Kiper said today on the ESPN draft special that he's pretty sure the Saints will be taking either D'Brickashaw Ferguson or A.J. Hawk. I like this scenario much better. Though I would prefer Hawk, Ferguson would be a very solid pick at #2. Then we could pick up Bobby Carpenter, D'Qwell Jackson, Abdul Hodge, or even Nick Mangold at #34.

RE: KIPER CHANGING HIS TUNE ABOUT SAINTS

sounds like Kyper and Clayton must have talked.

Kyper: "Hey Mark, do you really believe that about the Saints selecting Mario Williams with the 2nd overall pick?"
Clayton: "Mario? Hell no, I pulled that out of my ass on sportscenter 3 months ago, just to **** with Stewart Scott.....who knew it would catch fire the way it did???"
Kyper: "well, damn"

You know what's scary? The conversation probably went down exactly like that.

I just don't see the Saints picking Hawk at number 2. I think this Javon Walker visit today is a portent of things to come on draft day. I say we trade down with the Packers they get our pick at number 2 and Mario Williams and we get their number 5 pick and take Hawk. We also get Javon Walker and get Green Bay's third rounder.

I can handle that scenario, too.

No way the Saints are going to waste an opportunity to draft Hawk by taking damaged and poisonous goods like Jevon Walker.

Would Payton even want him? Is Jevon verging on pre-modona?
