with the way things turned out is anyone still upset with the brees signing? can you imagine where we would be if we had didnt sign him. at the time everyone assumed houston was gonna take bush and it was a given that he wasnt gonna be there for us. if we wouldve planned on taking leinart houston wouldve really screwed us over. what would we have done on saturday if were there waiting for leinart and all of a sudden houston calls out williams' name? they say we had bush highest on our board, but obviously didnt think he'd be there. id hate to know what wouldve been if we didnt sign brees. the way i see it, we couldve been very close to having martin or bouman as our starter next year. even though we didnt have the draft that i wanted thats much more frightening than being where we are now.
