This is a great pickup for us this guy could be our kicker for the next 10 tears.

Connor Hughes is Virginia's all-time leading scorer with 322 points on 64 field goals and 130 points. Yet San Diego drafted Virginia's other placekicker in the seventh round, Kurt Smith.

Smith only scored 43 points in his four years on campus ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢Â‚Â¬Ã¢Â€Âœ but he boomed 187 of his 284 career kickoffs into the end zone and 117 stayed there for touchbacks.

I understand because Kaeding is weak on kickoffs. Still, it's kinda a weird thing.

I'm thankful we got this guy. If he didn't have other calls to consider he must have thought "I know I can beat out that old fart."
