Antowain Smith
Saints Texans? Texans looking to Smith
<May. 6> With the Texans in need of depth at running back, the team is in talks to sign Smith, the Houston Chronicle reports. Smith, a nine-year veteran, spent last season in New Orleans and enjoyed a solid season, rushing for 659 yards. He would not only serve as a backup to Domanick Davis, but would help the Texans in short-yardage situations.

He went to school in Houston, too. He was the main reason Houston almost beat LSU in '96. Had it not been for Kevin Faulk's ridiculous game, including the late punt return, they would've won.

He handled his role with a lot of dignity and determination last season. I was proud to have him in a Saints uniform. I wish him well if he is indeed leaving. He's just one of those high character guys that are a good face for your football team.

He's definently a good guy to have around. Very serviceable at his position and, from all I've heard, an excellent teammate. Hate to see him go.

He will be missed big time! Once Deuce got hurt, he stepped it up big time. Hope he does well in Houston. Very professional player, should be a very good backup for Davis.
