Derrick Rodgers

The Miami is looking to trade LB Derrick Rodgers a 6 year starter. Anybody know anything about him would he be a good fit with us let me know.

Watching him play the last few years I see him as a Darren Smith type LB, but with a bit less tackiling accuracy and less coverage ability. He would be a steadier OLB than we have but with no upside or growth of the guys we need to do that.

Mediocre is the best word I could come up with to describe him. I could say what I really think, but my therapist wants me to stay positive in all aspects of my life :P

Correct me if i\'m wrong but I think Levon Kirkland is still available. He has a few years on him and last year he ballooned up nicely but was still one hell of a run stopper for the Eagles.

yeah but did you see his fat ass try to play catch up outside the tackles and in open field situtations, i would rather have rodgers than kirkland, the last thing we need is another blimp on defense, we\'re trying to get faster not slower

I can\'t find anything new on Brandon Short from the Giants. I think that he is an RFA. Although he is an OLB, I\'d like to know more about him.

KFFL shows Brandon Short as a restricted free agent. His 2002 salary was $375,000. He has a $605,000 tender offer from the Giants. As far as I can find out nothing has been sealed.
