Reggie Bush rookie card

Do you have to go to some comic book store and buy packs and packs of cards in the hopes of getting one, or can you buy one straight up? Anyone know? And where I could get one? And what cards have more value, Topps, Fleer, or some other brand?

I'm all over e-bay, but won't it cost more to get a card there than to buy one at a card store or something? I havne't bought any kind of trading card since I was about 10, so I am way out of the loop. Does topps or Fleer auction on e-bay, or is it only individual sellers? Hell, i'll prob just buy a Bush from all trading card companies.

Same here. The anticipation of who you'd get in a card pack was cool. The gum back in those days was pretty good, for a kid anyway.

Brings back some good memories at the little league ball park....

I used to love sportscards. Still do to a degree, but no longer buy them. A few years back I did buy a couple boxes of Topps Football when I got all geeked up before the season. Before that purchase a few years ago I probably went well over 10 years since my last purchase. I do not now much about the collecting process of today. The entire thing got to be a real pain. The simple days of opening a pack, chewing the gum, and trading off duplicates was what I was into as a kid. It got spoiled for me when "investors" started to buy up cards in the late 80's. Anyway, getting to the point, I agree that card shops is not going to find you the best price, ebay is probably the best way to collect. I am sure that before long Reggie Bush will be all over ebay. My advice is to buy the cards you like, and do not worry about the other stuff like "which brand is better". I also agree that checking the Beckett value is a good idea, to make sure you do not get ripped off. Also, asking a 12 year old kid who is into the stuff is another good way to go!

I've collected a good bit of cards. You can still buy packs or boxes and hope you find the right card. Each type will have several series of increasingly rare cards in them. Unless it's for novelty I would only buy very high end cards. If a card is die-cut it will be worth more and the odds (320:1 for example) of finding that type of card will increase the value (of course there will be several players in the series which makes finding Reggie harder - you may get a Mario Williams instead). The "hotness" level of a player adds value which Reggie is on fire.

If you buy cards, alignment of the picture and blemishes are VERY important. I would stick to graded cards only on Ebay since you can't hold it in your hand to look at it. Gem and other companies grade cards. A Gem Mint 10 would be the highest value for example and can triple (or more) the value of the card. Topps Finest is one of the better brands. So, you're lokking for a die-cut, rare, mint 10 grade rookie card. If Reggie produces like we think he will you'll be laughing all the way to the bank.

Another Extremely Important piece of info is that a Rookkie Series is even available in the type of cards you're looking at, and that Reggie has been included in the Rookie Series. Otherwise, you'll never find him becuase the card won't exist. Of course, an official, signed, high grade and unblemished card will be worth mucho dinero.

Wow! I completely forgot about the sports cards I've collected. I remember that I used to have an old Larry Bird card that was worth quite a bit of money back then. I didn't ever want to let go of that card. I can't even imagine what it would be worth now. I HAVE to find my cards and get an updated book so I can sell these babies. I don't collect them anymore, nor do I have any use for them. I could definately use the money, too.

Yeah, I am still the age for cards, but I wasted over 1,000 in cards the past 4 years, so i sold all of mine. My favorite was a Horn/Stallworth/Deuce triple jersey. I also had a couple more Stallworth jersey cards. And considering I live in University of Tennessee territory, I got alot of money too. The only one I still have is a 8 by 10 signed by Donte'
